Would love to see this happen but who do they hire? There is not a lot of quality sitting out there. Vigneault?
- Djapana

Be fine with Vigneault, and Luke Richardson is another guy I like. They could also just bring in an interim coach to finish the rest of 18-19 and hire someone after the season. They have plenty of options if they decide to let Hak go.

I highly doubt we win tomorrow.

Having said that, I can totally see us winning like 4 or 5-1 and then losing the next 4 games.

- arichardson22

This team is just too hard to predict. We have not played well against Bruins especially in Boston. But two days of practice...????

I'd just like to see them play with a sense of pride and give a full 60 minute effort regardless of outcome. That would be a positive step.

Raffl loss hurts. He is a NHL serviceable player that can move through line up.

Regarding Hak, I believe that Hexy was committed to him through this year at least. He pried him away from one of the top jobs in college hockey and wasn't going to have an itchy trigger finger. His recent comments tell me that Hak is officially on watch although I can see him making it to end of season then getting canned.

In season coaching replacements have worked with much success in past. I would have to believe that Hexy has someone in mind before firing Hak. No one behind bench currently would be my choice. OMG, could you imagine if Lappy is named interim?? Not familiar with Gordon or many other available coaches.

Nothing. They need to see if Neuvirth can actually survive the trip to LHV, let alone make it through a game, before they do anything.

But, once they waive Pickard, you can have him. He’s mediocre at best.

- BiggE

To be perfectly honest, I'm asking for the Marlies.

And I have McIlhenney rated above Pickard.

Just a rumor but I've heard it in two places, Chicago may let Joel Q walk after season. I have no sense of his style but he is a proven cup winner.

There’s been legit nhl sources saying the ownership group of the Flyers are putting pressure on Hexy to replace Hak if results don’t come.

Great Read....you make some good points....
Still think that the inconsistent overall play, the lack of wedded to structure and the slow starting tendencies goes back to this teams "Core" which has been intact since Laviolette was the coach and has been doing these same things regardless of the system, the coach, the goaltender and the rest of the lineup. Your core, your stars should set the tone. That tone has been there all along. That needs to be addressed or this team will never turn the corner for the better. I don't know how, and I don't know who...but that group (Giroux, Simmonds, Couturier, Voracek) have been the "heart" of the team through this entire period.

I think the Flyers are just gonna waive Pickard, now that Alex Lyon is back and Neuvirth is close to coming back. Pickard hasn't really played so well as to force Hextall to keep him.

Well it is Comcast, so their reaction to the problem will be an unreasonable amount of time after actually acknowledging the problem just to tell you a wire was loose.

Hak might not have made it to year 3 with Mr. Snider in charge. 10 game losing streak last year, forget it.

Maybe Hextall is waiting for the service technician to arrive to fire Hak.

I hope he gets fired before that. The team looks worse now than when he took over three years ago.
- Feanor

This is a 9 game stretch. Last season the team improved by 10 points over 82 games and finished in the top 3 in a tough Metro division.

Exactly. We have seen too much now to make excuses for Hak. We keep seeing these players that we know can play at a high level not performing at that level, at least not consistently. And the slow starts, the inconsistent play period to period, these intangibles that aren't a direct result of talent, at some point it has to be on the coach to fix these things. I think Hak had a pretty long leash, and I was hopeful he could help this team improve... but I think that leash is pretty short now.
