They weren’t. Took some bad penalties. Got shafted on the Hags faceoff violation though. That was some horse poop. Edmonton looked far more dangerous for a majority of the night. 4th line converted in a few goals which was nice considering they spent most of the game pinned in their own zone and trying to dump and chase only to give the puck back to the Oilers more often than not. McDavid is scary every (frank)ing time the dude has the puck. It doesn’t make sense how fast he is hahaha

This is pure carryover from last season. They Pens were drastically outplayed and saved by talent, which was the Pens m.o. in the Bylsma years.

They don't look like they have any kind of game plan... dump/chase, go out there and go after pucks and not worry about the consequences.

I'll even say this, not only would the score have been worse if not for Murray, but the Pens are kind of lucky Talbot played bad. I mean he let up some pretty bad goals.

While this is true I would think the current plan for DET is to have Bernier and whoever hold down the fort until Petruzzelli is ready.
