PK now sits below 70% and last in the NHL I think.

How Lappy remains to still have a job is beyond me. What exactly does the man have to do to be replaced? Be the Scranton Strangler?

If you won’t fire Hak, at least please try for an upgrade there.

Not that it is an excuse because the Flyers are capable of playing better, but we do realize that the Avalanche are good, right? It isn't like they lost to the Coyotes at home again
- YuenglingJagr

You can say that about 18 other teams in the league in comparison to our squad. I'm tired of doing that: "They lost but the other team was just better." I need that to stop.

Other than goaltending there's something keeping this team down, something that's not just talent. I don't know what it is but I wish someone in South Philly would figure it the hell out and fix it.

He'll be here soon. He has the next 4 months of skating with NHL regulars (in practice) and getting used to the speed he'll need to make outlet passes....and while they are on the road he has a professional training staff pushing him in the gym to get stronger.

He's going to beast...gut feel

Guy cant develop if he isnt playing and he cant play because he is always injured. Im not as optimistic about him as others like yourself are.

The Avalanche had an NHL low 48 points in 2016-2017.
How is their rebuild going compared to the Flyers?

lol

the PK is a complete joke, man. It is unreal how they sit there and half ass it. Yeah they try harder to pressure the puck to prevent the team from setting up but literally as soon as they are set up they go right back into try to block the puck mode. It is awful to watch

Firing the PK coach was about as easy as 1+1 = 2.
The fact they couldn't get something so simple right, how can anyone have any faith in this regime.

That is why I said it isn't an excuse. The Avs have talent and are playing well is all I mean. They aren't the crap team they were a couple years ago.

They pot one into an open net. We have a guy that fires a pass back across the slot with an open net

Why do they get so stupid as soon as they hit this organization? Why do I feel like the AHL team beats any creativity out of every prospect that spends more than 40 games down there?

Just a hunch, I think the Av's rest of season might go a tad better.

I cringe every time I think about our PK unit on the ice against Toronto.

Even if it's not all Laperriere's fault, which it isn't. You need a fresh voice and perspective after the PK being as dismal as it's been. It's a combination of personnel/coaching and awful goaltending. That is why the PK is a dumpster fire. As I said, you need a fresh perspective to try and improve. Staying status quo is a joke.

They could get dumped in the first round then it is just a tad. Hell, we could squeak in and get dumped in the first round... we've been doing it for years. It's the one thing they've mastered.

The Avs are built to give teams trouble. Fast as hell, and they gave Nashville a run for their money in the playoffs last season also.

It’s not really talked about, nor can we know maybe how much of it comes down to coaching/systems - but the Flyers are for sure one of the slowest clubs in the league. “Hockey IQ” is great, but tough when you are always on your heels or losing races.

Imo you can really see the speed thing on transition. It’s a huge issue in my eyes. If you are slow, you better be intimidating/gritty. They are neither.

As much as I like Couturier, I question if he is a 100percent. He looks like an older day Handzus with the skating this season.

Avs didnt rebuild, they just had a bad year. They literally had most of the same players the next year

I saw a tweet the other day and it couldn't be more true. It's an 82 game
march towards missing the playoffs/first round exit.

- xShoot4WarAmpsx

Did the Flyers make a contract offer to Nash?

What was the issue with the PP goal given up last night and how does firing Lappariere solve that issue?

Avs rebuilt. They tanked hard. That elite core is mainly part of a rebuild, and their rebuild has gone on for a while.

It’s been years with an abysmal PK, not just one game. I truly question how many NHL organizations would have kept him at this point.

If you are in favour of keeping the man, by all means.

Maybe we are talking about different times. There was a year Avs made playoffs, Mackinnon had a fantastic season then next year were awful and missed playoffs for a bit.

What I'm in favor of is actually fixing it. It was a simple question. How about he PP goals given up the game before that? I'm asking you what the actual issues are. I don't expect you to answer because you don't know.
