I honestly like the guy, but I can understand why there is such a gang up mentality on him.

Other than Thundachunk or myself I haven't seen one person say anything positive about him, even while he has been playing better this year.

I am starting to think that maybe he just doesn't want to be in Van?

I don't remember him being this sh!!ty in FLA?

He was always a work in progress there as well until 1 year with Brian Campbell as his main partner and Gallant getting the most out of him too

Canucks bought high on him after a career year. That was the first year he was ever even a top 4 dman.

I think he laughed his ass off to the bank when he signed his extension in VAN, because he doesn't get paid that type of money anywhere else. His style is slowly being extinct in the NHL. Defensive only defenseman are almost redundant now. I don't think you have to score goals as a Dman to stay relevant, but I think you have to be able to push the play the other way, instead of just icing the puck, clearing it up the glass, or flipping it in the air high enough to get a change. I have given up the expectations of what we expect out of gudbranson, and would just hope he plays out the rest of his contract sticking up for his team mates, fighting when needed, and keep the puck out of our net when he is on the ice. Zero point in expecting anything more from him lol

I never followed him much in FLA so I have not much to say on it other than the fact he looks pretty shakey defensively. FLA fans seemed to love him and the players seemed pretty pissed when he was traded. I like his toughness obviously but beyond that he doesn't seem to bring much.

#leadership?

Again I think he is living up to those expectations, yes there will be mistakes, as there is with any player. But because of previous years play most aren't willing to give the benefit of doubt.

I thought both Stecher and Hutton were atrocious last year but I think both have also stepped up their game, do they still screw up from time to time, oh yeah they do but sh!t happens. Same as Guddy,

Remember he was playing for gallant back then. We saw how good gallant is last season right up to SCF.

I haven't been as hard on Gudbranson as I usually am, because you have to pick your spots. If the team is winning, and he isn't on the ice when goals are scored against, I am not going to start picking his game apart. The defense as a whole (without MDZ) has been very good, with exception to some plays. Gudbranson will always have higher expectations than what he will deliver, being the highest drafted player in his draft, and at 3OA. As for why other people are picking now to pile on the hate, I am not really sure, I imagine it has something to do with the EP incident, but I am not sure, I have always disliked him lol

He’s playing betterish, but he still forces his teammates into unnecessary puck battles by chipping it off the boards and hoping they can skate onto it. The Canucks as a whole do this quite a bit, but EG does it even when there’s no pressure.

I believe the reason Nilsson gets the start is because they showcased Markstrom Saturday and avoiding injury so they can trade him for Schneider.
