Well said, couldn't agree more... Slow, high paid and defensively liable players win games - obie

Now is no time to let the inexperienced kids play - Pat1993
Still, must be fun for Julien to know he's basically here to help build a contender for the next guy. |

Will Scherbak get a game before getting traded/sent on waivers?

Ridiculous... I figured they would give him a good look this season but then again I thought Rychel would get a shot |

Scherbak and Hudon are not 4th liners. If they can't make the top 9, they are in trouble. Guys like Deslauriers and Shaw will be in front of them. Because they fit the 4th line better.
Unless you want to go in another direction with your 4th line. |

Roll 4 lines with speed, I wouldn't mind a Hudon-Peca-Scherbak 4th line |

Scherbak definately not but Hudon can play on a 4th line, depends what you expect, he's not going to drop the gloves or kill anyone but he can be effective on the forecheck and create turnovers.
His problem is converting those chances at the NHL level but if you believe in advanced stats he's the player that generates the most scoring chances/ 60 minutes for the habs. |

They want to play a fast game. Scherbak is skilled, but likes to slow the play down (kind of like Kovalev did). Anyway, I don't think his brain is fast enough to follow what they are trying to do here. |

What's weird is that he was actually producing this year despite lower icetime.
I really don't get, aside from his 2 penalties in his last game, why he'd sit for Shaw or Deslauriers.
Scherbak floated all camp and doesn't really deserve to bump anyone but I'd give him one last chance before sending him away? |

Vet status.
Claude probably wants a sandpaper 4th line, all that scoring and speed made him uncomfortable. |

I didn't mind Shaw on the fourth line, he added grit while being fast enough to follow.
But it only made sense with Hudon and Peca/Plek driving the play. |

That's kind of my point.
And by the way, Deslauriers had 10 goals last season with not much ice time. Hudon had a bigger role and did not break anything. |

Well he had double Deslauriers points and he's younger. He may have a higher ceilling but we won't know if they don't try him. Also not breaking your face is a good thing. |

With his speed and role he needs to be in the other guy's face all time. He's floating a bit not generating much just trying not to get scored agaisnt. |
