It was a good post but I find positive affirmation goes to his head.

It does. Itโ€™s a character flaw.

Benning's only suckage really comes from the CHL.

They cannot draft in that league.

I meant his poor finishes in the standings.

Its a damn shame that Byram is a LHD. Would be great to see someone rise up the ranks a bit who is a righty and then add him to the system but this draft, at least as of now, looks like a forward heavy draft. No goalies expected to go high and like 5D in the top30 as of the rankings that were out at the start of the month.

Kids so damn good, be great to have him!!

It would for sure, just that in a perfect world he'd be right handed.

More like Casey Crappy-Stat

Get it?

Dropped out of my pool 2 days ago.

Was a tough decision I only get three drops the entire year.

Just another under performing Sabre.

the lefty righty is way overblown good defensemen adapt , one of the best defense groups was the red army russins and they where all left or 1 right and all left

yeah that was the 70s.

Game is different now and all the best defence pairings are righty-lefty and most cup defences are right-left balanced 1-4 if not 1-6. There's a reason the balance is coveted.

1988 canada cup same system
and it is mostly because playing off the backhand is a struggle , but again talented d-men can make it work

The 80s. So only 30 years ago.

Every study done, coach, and player says that they're if on their strong side they're hella better.

my point being it should not not effect whether you draft a player or not, if you have the best lefty's all playing together i imagine the team would be fine .

i believe Tryamkin prefers his off side , as an example, that it's not written in stone either way, and Edler struggles, as we saw in the torts era

but to dismiss an era and a coach who many consider as one of the greats because of time lapsed is near-sighted , because as in all life's lessons "what is old , is new again"

You still take him if he's your boy, just that this team sure could use some righties. If its a LHD or a C, its not as easy a choice as an equally rated RHD, LHD or C.

Fullbacks and dual back sets used to be a staple of like every offensive set in the NFL. Then the game changed.

Back when chipping the puck off the glass or boards was an acceptable breakout, handedness might have mattered less. Back when coaching was line combinations and "hey guys do the thing" it wasn't a big deal. But the NHL has changed and handedness has a big impact on important things like a PP, transition, controlled exits, defending entries and matchups.

Meanwhile, the Nashville Predators are looking to upgrade their forward corps but not willing to sacrifice their top-tier defense to do it.

Maybe they are talking three way trade.

Most likely Tanev to Toronto
Nylander to Nashville
Van gets a package of stuff from both.

every year is a new year , do i think we are a platoff team? no , but do i think if things go well this team can compete for a wildcard ? sure why not us last year everyone thought LV could do nothing and we saw that happen

Thatโ€™s not entirely true. Go back and have a look at all the CA posts about how in their first year Vegas already had a better team, and arguably, a better prospect pool than the Canucks. The fans in here, sure, they thought the Canucks would be pushing for a playoff spot...

Meh, if they are not in a playoff spot near the deadline make the move and then worry about it in the off season. If the deal is right now, and too good to pass on, then run with Stech, Goody and Bulldog...

Wishful thinking Vinty. Canucks are playing well and there wonโ€™t be any trades. TDL? Itโ€™s possible but Edler is more likely. He would be a hero in Van if he waives and then returns to Van in the summer

the rumour swirling is Babcock wants EG and he'll make him the next Chara
so we get to keep Tanev!!

i'm hearing EG , OJ and a conditional pick for W.Nylander and a prospect to be named later
JB wants Dermott but TO is holding out
