False. This is Toronto... you think I can afford enough cardboard for a whole box? I sleep under a propped up pizza box.

If Kyle Dubas built this 23-man roster on Nintendo Ice Hockey, there'd be 20 skinny-guys, 2 medium-guys, and 1 fat-guy (Goat) that plays like a medium guy despite being "fat".

As anyone who grew up playing Nintendo Ice Hockey knows, teams full of the fast skinny-guys exclusively don't win with regularity, and certainly not in the playoffs.

Now don't get me wrong - you need skinny-guys - lots of them. But the medium and fat-guys create time and space for the skinny-guys to do more skinny-guy things like skate around fast and score.

Duchene I would agree. He wants to play with a contender, or at least a team that will make the playoffs regularly. But he's playing well, so the silver lining is that they should get a solid return for him. (No, it wont equal what they gave up).

Stone, I have more optimism for, he's been here longer, although that one year deal is a little disconcerting. But then it's the same process, hope for a solid return at the deadline (which it would be).

In this scenario they just hope they have enough of a cushion to avoid falling down to the wings and rangers.

- david22

Stone is a beast. His next contract is going to be scary but I imagine he will fetch a lot at the deadline. Unfortunately by "a lot" I mean, not what he is worth It seems like teams never get the players value in a trade.

That is why Sakic got the last laugh on everyone after all that heat he took.

I don't like the idea of ordering off a website.

It seems like an invasion of privacy, and it means someone, somewhere has evidence that I ordered it. The last thing I need is for the border crossing or some work issue to happen because I ordered it.

Basically, I don't trust the (frank)ing government.

Don't use a credit card. I don't think the American gov has records for Debit transactions but Visa/Mastercard/Amex make all their records available to Border Security.

Moral of the story: Hire the Japanese Nintendo developer that created Ice Hockey as an AGM/Rosterologist. He/She cracked the code to winning in the 2018/19 NHL 30 years ago.

The Leafs shoudnt have to add anything for a 28 (almost 29 yo) Dman if they are trading Nylander.

There are a bunch of reasons why that would be a terrible move for the Leafs at this point. Nylander has his best years coming, and AP is heading into his decline. for Defense it can come pretty quick. A is not going to make the difference everyone thinks he will

Honestly Adding Nylander or AP to the team right now imo is pretty close when it comes to moving the needle for the team as a whole.

there is maybe 2 or 3 realistic options to trade Nylander for in the whole league at this point. So its not going to happen.

- senstroll

Bullpoop.

Look how old Chara (34), Pronger (31, Cup Finals @ 34), Niedermayer (33) and Lidstrom (37) were when they won Stanley Cups. Pietrangelo at 28/29 is not going to decline for awhile. And the fact that he fills a positional need much more than Nylander makes him twice as valuable to the Leafs than the Leafs 4th if not 5th best forward.

Is it ideal? No. But there aren't a plethora of options out there either but Pietrangelo certainly is a good one.

UG don't be silly.

Remember Shea Weber? The man was completely finished the second he got traded to the Habs at 31 years old.

Pietrangelo is on the brink of self-destruction!!!!

Oh and he just had triplets, guy must have close to zero minutes of sleep per night.

Anybody find it odd how UG, who just last season, was going on about how the Leafs were 5 years away, but now all of a sudden wants to trade young players for older ones on expiring contracts and go for it?

Oh, it’s because he’s a female genitalia? Carry on...

- Dongull_Trump

Two major things have changed.

First, they signed Tavares at 11 AAV.

Second, Nylander has decided to Richard them around and is holding out for more money thus complicating the cap situation even further.

The Leafs are still a couple years away but they still need a #1 RHD.

Oh, this is all too complicated for you to understand? Carry on indeed.

These are the same people who swear Marleau is wicked amazing at 39 and a steal at 6 million a year. But Pietrangelo at 29, he's done.

Pietrangelo isn't your run of the mill, bottom pairing D. He's consistently among the best RHD. He's not going to fall off the map at 30. I'm saying he's Lidstrom who will still dominate at 40, but to say that if the Leafs acquired him tomorrow for Nylander that he'd start to decline is asinine.
