Let's see how Drew Hipskunk deployed our D at even strength shall we
Hagg: 17:49
Provorov: 17:33
Folin: 15:42
Ghost: 14:45
Gudas: 14:24
Sanhiem: 12:16
Reminder that Gudas and Sanhiem have been the most reliable pair. So reliable it was the only part of the lineup left unchanged.
Reminder that Sanhiem was benched for Folin late in a tie game and thereafter.
I get that these are 6 we have to put in right now, and honestly I'd rather have these 6 point then 5 of them with old MacDonald. But having Hagg, Provorov, and Folin leading your 5v5 ice time is a recipe for disaster and frankly if you don't see why I don't know what to tell you.
Play your best players. Sit your worst ones when you shorten the bench. That's all I'm asking. Player (frank)ing management
Oh and TK, arguably our most dynamic 5v5 forward behind the 2 obvious ones, saw 10:19 at ES.
- Giroux_Is_God
Play management. Lack of Attention to detail. Relying too heavily on the first PP unit. Bad coaches challenges. Relying too heavily on the hot hand when goaltending is concerned. Knee jerk reaction to scratch a regular for a plug after a solid win. I can’t remember the last time he called a time out to simply calm the troops.
We won today but today’s victory hasn’t improved his resume. |

RE: The 3rd jersey
The last time the Flyers tried an all black jersey, it was unimaginative and boring.
I like their new black jersey alot. The Flyers are one of the few teams in the league where black is one of their core colors (even Pittsburgh changed because it is an unimaginative franchise that capitalized on the Steelers success in the 70s).
The Flyers should have an all black jersey/uniform situation and I think their current setup looks great.

Yikes. |

Definitely had that classic Flyers Devils vibe. Not a lot of rubber on net. Good to see them find a way to win.
PK still abysmal but the overall performance as a team improved.
Can they win 2 in a row? |

Attended game today. Hagg started the game with Provy. I like Simmer with G and Coots. Thought team d was better but still some lapses. Elliott made the routine saves today. 1st goal was screened. 2nd Boyle went top shelf. Nice shot. Another 3rd period blown lead. Pk in bad shape. Truly believe Provy is hurt. He doesn't look like himself. Great win and a big 2 points. Still need improvement but strong effort. |

His hurt his back.
I mean, strictly speaking, I doubt he's super hurt and there's no risk to not playing him tonight, because they are better than the Magic, who played last night. It didn't look like a significant injury.
It just doesn't help my gambling, is all. |

my thoughts on the game
1. Welcome back Patrick
2. Konecny improving definitely not ruined
3. Provy still struggling
4. Raffl is the anti offense
5. Why didn't Elliot slash Palmeri on the goal to get him out of the way
6. We're lucky Voracek showed up and decided to score a late goal |

The pairing of Travis Sanheim (who also had two assists) and Radko Gudas had another solid game.
Gudas + Sanheim looks like a winner. |

Agreed. Gudas and Laughton have both been very pleasant surprises for the Flyers this season. |

Was great seeing Evander Kane take on heavyweight champ Anders Lee and then bodyslam him into the ice after Lee lost his helmet. Then again, Lee definitely wanted the fight, I just don't agree with the Mick Vukota-esque bodyslam.
I also don't think that 2 equals "lots." |
