Next year they still have Marleau and his 6.25 and Horton and his 5.3 on the cap to work around plus the 1.2 retained on Kessel, 4.5 owed to Zaitsev, 11 to JT and then somehow need to give significant raises Matthews Marner Nylander and Kapanen and ice the rest of the team while only having about a dozen players under contract for that season. They are in some cap hell going forward.
