2-8 Leaves today. No confidence in the Pens attitude at the moment & the Leaves are out trying to prove to everyone how good they are.

Later in the year, sure, different story. But the (frank)s given meter for the Pens hasn't budged after the Caps game from 'very little'.

- Aussiepenguin

So glad the give a (frank) meter got a nudge!

Were the Leaves in their playoffs mode?

Well.. that was refreshing.

What's up with their 2nd periods this year? They're usually garbage.

Weren't they the best 2nd period team in the league last year? 🤔

Playing up to their competition. Their defensive hustle and pressure in all zones was outstanding for the most part... 2nd was a bit rough but ya gotta expect periods of pushback from a potent team like the Leafs.

What a great game by the Pens.

Happy with the win. Happy with Murray.

I don't think this was a great game from the Pens. It was a GOOD game, but they were still largely outplayed, but the effort was there.

Baby steps, but a good win against a better team. Can't be mad.

They basically did everything they weren’t doing against Montreal and Van. The D really stepped up. Some great hits, good support and some tape to tape passes. Nice to see.

You think we were outplayed? Strange, I don't see it that way at all. I thought the Pens were the better team through most of the game....minus some of the 2nd.

They had a better 2nd but Pens had better game overall all.

Babcock "we had no room". They weren't getting second chances and were forced to the outside alot.

Never panicking but I'm hoping the play down/play up to opponent trend, that I started noticing last year, isn't a thing this year. So far it seems to be. You see what they're capable of tonight. So there's no excuse to not see this or close to this most nights..

I thought the Leafs had more quality chances than the Pens. The Pens definitely controlled a portion of the game, but overall I thought the leafs were better.

Murray was the real x-factor.

Again, the Pens played a good game, but IMO not a great game. Maybe I’m nitpicking.

Some solid play in front of Murray. The D were staying with their man, boxing out and tying up sticks. Definitely Riikolas best reg season game. JJ played well too.

Wow...that's what I thought...but the other way around. Pens went to work on the Leafs. Leafs had a few good shifts, which can be expected, but I was wondering how the Pens could have lost any games this year the way they played tonight.

They've been doing that for at least six years in the Crosby-Malkin era

So I was looking at the box since I missed the game tonight. Matt Cullen had 23 shifts tonight. That’s only two less than Kessel, same as Hornqvist, and more Guentzel and Brassard. Isn’t that level of deployment the exact thing we should be avoiding with a 40+ year old during the regular season?

I think when Sullivan first started up until last year we didn't see much of it.

I don't think the leafs splitting up their pp units was dumb at all. Leafs fans female doged about it all year but.Their pp was second in the league at 25 percent. I think Pittsburgh was first.

Still, I very much enjoy this years pp. Careful though, our random second unit is also getting it done.

Yea people female doged about it in Pittsburgh too, but we never really tried it. I actually liked our 2nd PP last year with 2 D men, granted they usually only got about 15 seconds a penatly. would have liked to see Shultz and letang on the first PP unit for a couple PP shifts, just to see what it looked like.
