Jack Hughes would really help the possession time for Van. Someone who can handle the puck, weave through defenders. Van has quite a few straight forward direct players. Kirby Dach seems he could be a lesser version but with more size. Lots of interesting players in this draft. I dont want the team to suck intentionally but better chance to suck then finally winning a draft lottery

It probably didn't set the rebuild back any, because they never publicly admitted they were rebuilding until this year. It has helped with the unintentional sucking though, which unintentionally helped the rebuild
