I would ask if you are going to get tired of being completely (frank)ing wrong in your game predictions, but I hope you are wrong all season long. - ruttager17
Not tired of it at all I'm glad to be wrong so long as it means this team can keep winning! I'll take one for the team because I'm just such a great guy
Lost in all the noise about the win is that the Oilers finally got a new goal song! Not particularly good but less annoying than the attempted 'Chelsea Dagger' rip-off.

Too much term and too many dollars... and how many playoff appearances did he drive the Isles to ? - Reveen.
his dollars are marginally too much. but not much. hes produced at an elite level for a decade.
and a guy with his pedigree is gonna get that term no matter what.
there was no way u were gonna sign him to less.
hes earned that
the whole playoff argument is silly.
its no different than hall. a dysfunctional organization that gave him little to nothing to work with that he had to carry on his back year after year almost alone.
ahl without him on the ice.
its like saying theres something wrong with connor and he doesnt deserve that 12.5 cause he wasnt able to take the oilers to the playoffs 2/3 years.
tavares is killing so far and theyre 6-1 or whatever.
hes doing exactly what they hoped. making them too deep on offence to stop.
if they have a shot at a cup (and they do) for a few years (which they will) hes fulfilled his contract regardless of what happens on the back half

Except Pittsburgh who shut them down last night.... they wont produce at that pace all year. They have a suspect blue line and inconsistent Goalie. They are a product of the Toronto hype machine and will crash and burn like they do every year.

I didn’t say they’d go 81-1. Nor did I say they’re without flaws.
Of course they’re gonna lose. And they’re inevitably gonna go on a cold streak.
But they’re a playoff lock because that offence is so strong with a shot to win it all. And they don’t even have nylander yet who’s a 60+ point snipe.
So much luck in the playoffs.
Can only build a team has a real shot to win it all.
And they’re certainly among that group.

Anything goes once you get into the playoffs. The best you can do is try to build a team that gets you in. Toronto has done just that. Sure they are a tad weak on defense on defense, but even then, it depends on how far Rielly develops. Goaltending wise, I think they are okay.

Every team will have their ups and downs. That's just normal. However, management has put the team in a position to succeed, and that is all that matters.
How well their defense will depend on how far Rielly develops. So far, nothing but good signs from him this season.

You said they were too good on offense to stop... I think they have a solid offense but way too many holes to be successful.
