I have to disagree, to an extent.. I think if Nylander signs a "team-friendly" deal, that he won't be traded, as that actually helps us more. If he signs for $8M or whatever it is he wants, he's more likely to be traded.. We wouldn't be able to afford the big 4. - PatC80
I agree with you. If you create cap stress, you are the likely target to be moved.
I'm more stating what's been reported is that he feels with a higher contract, there's less chance of other team's affording him. Granted with all the chatter and lack of real news, the reporters these days are desperate to make it sound like they have an idea what's going on. |

Maybe it is the per diem?
Maybe it's an 8 yr deal for 2,920,000,000.00 annually |

I would strongly advise against giving Dominik Diem that kind of deal, because it's really going to push Jeremy Bracco's next contract into the stratosphere. |

Do you mean this literally, as in he will be traded to Edmonton? - Atomic Wedgie
That's figuratively.
A good friend of mine is an Oiler fan, and he loves Nylander. He has said that Matthews wouldn't be half as good without Nylander. This means that if we had signed him, Matthews would have 20 goals already.
He hasn't said how he'd feel if Nylander were eaten by wolves, but even as a sack of wolf crap, he'd still be the best winger on Edmonton.

I just got my quarterly statement from Tanner Financial Management.
So far, we haven't seen healthy gains on my investments in CDs (music, not certificates of deposit) and smokes, but my financial advisor says I need to be patient. |

15-16 was way worse. Kadri led the team with 45 points. PA Parenteau was our 2nd highest scorer |

This.
Everything being reported right now, included the supposed demands of Nylander and the supposed targets of the Leafs, is nonsense BS by sports journalists who know they can just say whatever they want to create news without basis.
Everyone outside of those involved knows absolutely nothing right now.
For all we know, this whole thing could be a planned holdout to legally circumvent the CBA by taking advantage of the artificially higher cap hit in year one for RFAs that sign late! |

For all we know William Nylander is actually planning on quitting hockey and joining a traveling circus as a tiger trainer on a 60k a year contract.
Let us speculate in peace |

Ah i see what you mean now. It's pretty incredible how much the team has changed in a couple years. We have 3 elite forwards and lots of depth after that, a real goalie, a real coach, rielly became a legit top pairing Dman, etc |
