The coach that benches or scratched any of the core is signing his walking papers.

A coach has to rely on those players. Should Hakstol bench Voracek for his ridiculously horrendous backcheck effort on the Atkinson goal?

Players have to execute. Like I said, all last season the Flyers were a solid team defensively at 5 on 5. Now we want to pretend it's the system? How about we blame the players for a change and not just the ones we don't like.

I've bashed Jake for the last two seasons for his laziness. I'd have no problem seeing what the trade value is.

That sends a message to those still here. Buy in or you'll be elsewhere.

then how do you punish laziness?

Didn't watch post game but I believe Hakstol ripped into Jake. That's probably the way a coach has to get a message through now. Players seem to have more power than coaches now about being played thanks to the percent of money against the cap they get.

The good of Voracek far outweighs the bad. He is a dominant offensive player. Unless blown away with an offer, trading Voracek would be a mistake. Trading him to send a message would be just plain stupid, no offense.

I'll say it again, it's a long season.

That's where team leadership has to come into play. A coach can't solve every issue. Player have to take it upon themselves.

I imagine tomorrow's practice will be running basic drills devoted to fundamentals such as puck management and decision making, back checking and basic positioning assignments. Rather than focusing on more advanced areas that the coach would rather be doing.

Then how do you deal with the consistent laziness he has in his game?

Play him with Lehtera and Weise.
