No Vorobyev? - VladDrag
I think Weal earned a longer look with his line mates last night.
Im not opposed to Vorobyev being used on the 4th line for the time being. Based on the coaches comments I think he just got a bit of a wake up call he needs to respond to. |

Weal has 2 100pt seasons in the WHL (and a 96 point season) and was a ppg player in the AHL. Not sayin he’s going to be a stud but he has a lot more skill than people think. He’s also not been given a shot a center for any significant time. - VladDrag
Yet he is on his second team and doesnt really seem to make an impression.
Sometimes players dominate the minors and suck in the nHL. |

Long term he is a 4th line center anyway, so I have no problem with that if they want to run him now and Have him with Raffl and JL |

The point I think he is trying to make is that the longer change does not allow for Hak to try match lineups as much - VladDrag
Oh yeah, I get it. But I'm half-jokingly suggesting that we have an issue with that end's blue line. So many times we are skating the puck towards the blue line and we turn it over or just can't get it out of our zone. Frustrating.
"Like that sorry son-of-a-female dog that just tripped over the blue line?" |

it looks like provorov can barely skate, is there no talk of an LBI? - -davies-
He took a puck off the foot in the first period last night. Seemed to be testing it several times and did not seem to be skating well. However, he practiced today. You'd just about have to amputate his foot for him NOT to skate. |

To be fair weak first period starts have been an issue with this core of players going all the way back to Lavi. - hereticpride
Going back to Richards and Carter. |

Bill,
Do you feel he is pressing on the offensive end to show he can keep up with Ghost? Looks like he is getting caught more than expected trying to transition to offense. |

I think the training staff will have their hands full with him. He is the kind of player that will hide things from them if they allow it. We can't have him being Simmer of last year and just trying to do anything he can to be on the ice.
If he or any other player are legit hurt they need to be off the ice at game time. I am glad they finally got AMac off it because he looked horrible after coming back from injury. He definitely looked to come back too soon. |

I thought he was pretty good in 16-17. Good enough to get a multi year/million dollar show me deal from Hexy, so he must have shown something.
Not saying he’s going to be our Gourde, but let’s give him the opportunity... Give him 10-15 games at center to see what he can do. If he doesn’t pan out oh well.

Andrew MacDonald's wife gave birth to their second child early this morning, but AMac and Dave Hakstol confirmed that he was being scratched anyway. MacDonald acknowledged he probably came back too soon, and could use a "reset." Hak wouldn't put a timeframe on it. |

Yanni Gourde played his first season last year at 25 and score 64 points.
I would say give him 20-30 games. You’ll have a good idea 15 games into it. - VladDrag
What the hell are you arguing? Gourde is not Weal. Weal is 26 and his career high is 21 points.
Matt Read was about the same age. Had 2 40 point seasons then went down hill. Weal is not a good player and he will most likely never be. |

He's arguing that Gourde and Weal both had about the same production in juniors and the AHL, are the same age, and Gourde just broke out last season at 25. So Weal could still be a solid NHL player under the right circumstances |
