You're right, Weal is completely useless. Bring on Corban Knight! |

Its time to go home so Im done arguing about Weal. We can reconvien after his career amounts to nothing. So next year |

What the hell are you arguing? Gourde is not Weal. Weal is 26 and his career high is 21 points.
Matt Read was about the same age. Had 2 40 point seasons then went down hill. Weal is not a good player and he will most likely never be. - xShoot4WarAmpsx
Weal was a good player last night.

Weal was only tried at center this preseason.
We also have a coach that over values safe, heavy players. - VladDrag
The coach doesn't over value safe , heavy players. He does however value players who can play well away from the puck and manage the puck well over finesse skill players who don't produce offensively.

I really didn't think Brian Elliot was at fall. Tough shots, no luck. But, when Lyons is really, if tings don't change, put the current two, those contracts expire, on waviers.
I highly doubt any team takes either for free, but lets got with Lyons as #1
It probably will be better. Send him to Phantoms, let him get game back, and bring him up. |

It will probably be better? There are doubts if Lyons is capable of being a backup at the NHL level full time, let alone given the #1 job. That's crazy.

How high can you really be on a player if you can't even get his last name right?

I don't know if this is a permanent change but the logo on NBCSN for this Caps Rags game just says "Wednesday Night Hockey" instead of "Wednesday Night Rivalry."
Have they finally stopped trying to pretend all these random Wednesday night broadcasts are "rivalries"??? |

I think Weal earned a longer look with his line mates last night.
Im not opposed to Vorobyev being used on the 4th line for the time being. Based on the coaches comments I think he just got a bit of a wake up call he needs to respond to. - Baxter27

I don't understand everyone being down on Vorobyev. This kid has been pretty damn good. If the coach thinks he needs a wakeup call, then so be it but I hope that is all this is. I did notice a couple plays where he got caught watching. But way more often you notice the postives. This kid is talented and has really good vision and anticpation.
Like I said if it is a quick lesson, fine but he is too skilled to be on the 4th line for long. For me, he's best thing to happen this season so far for the Flyers. Even in his limited time last night he had an excellent set up for Weise.
I just don't want to see him not given a shot, due to not producing for a couple games. It's not like he hasn't played well. I did miss the Sharks game, maybe that was where he had problems. |

Everyone is not down on Vorobyev. Most, myself included think he is going to be a solid NHL player. He's just not ready for a 3rd line center role in the NHL right now, or at least he hasn't shown so far that he is. It would be much better for his development if he could break in and play on the 4th line right now. You state that he has been pretty damn good. That's just not true. It's not a question of him not being talented enough. The question is can the Flyers afford to let him develop in the NHL in a top 9 role. Against Florida, Couturier and Giroux received 1 offensive zone start in the game. To this point of the season through 5 games, Provorov has seen 5 offensive zone starts and Gostisbehere, 6 offensive zone starts. Through 5 games! Part of that is being young at center. |

It sounds like you are down on Vorobyev. Everybody except for maybe you because you tend to agree with the coaches more than most, would have had a fit if Vorobyev didn't start the season with the Flyers. Now two of our top 6 forwards are out and it seems like nobody really cares that he may end up on the 4th line or possibly not in the lineup.
I'm a little surprised as he's been impressive to me. Maybe he's not ready but to this point, (in the 11 or 12 games I've seen him in. He's looked like one of their smarter, productive and responsible players. There's obviously something Im missing since you don't believe he's ready for 3rd line center role and many including the coach may agree with you.
Not saying your wrong, rather I'm looking for insight. What do you see that says he's not ready? |

This comment makes zero sense because the coaches obviously felt that Vorobyev should start the seaosn with the Flyers and was in the opening night lineup. I like everyone else was impress with his play in the pre season.

I have no idea how you can think he has been impressive. As a center he does not carry the puck or create offense for his wingers. He's fine away from he puck. A player does not have his ice time cut, demoted to a lower line and moved off of center to wing if his play is impressive.
