Matthews has 109 points at even strength, Laine has 90, it's not as wide a margin as some of you would have others believe.
- LeftCoaster

Even strength goals after 150 GP:
Selanne 70
Lindros 70
Gretzky 68
Matthews 67
Bossy 66
Bure 65
Lemieux 63
Ovechkin 53

Apparently you only measure a player by the points he puts up. It is not even close between them. Who are you trying to fool?
- bixll

We're talking about points, what are you inferring isn't close, total icetime on the PP? That I don't know.

Sign Nylander to a 3-year bridge deal, slap him on Kadri's line against tough matchups and dole out PP2 minutes. Let's see if he cracks 60 consistently before handing him a contract fitting of an 80-point player.
- gravyface

The issue is he is likely to end back with Matthews and score in the 70's. Sucks he wont take the long term security. He's going to be on PP2 regardless, but adding him to it makes it pretty good.

I think i'd ask for a 4 year bridge deal at 4.5M at least that gives you the 4th year at a good cap hit before he gets a big contract.

Laine has 48 PP points, Matthews has 39.

If Matthews played on the #1 PP his first 2 seasons I'm sure he would have more than Laine.

Took Babs long enough to figure out his best goal scorer should probably be on the #1 PP unit

The difference being of people on this list, Matthews, Ovechkin, and Laine are in the modern NHL where goals are significantly harder to come by. It really makes it even more impressive they are up there.

Man I loved watching prime Lindros pre-concussion. He was such a beast. Imagine how good he would have been had those not happened.

We're talking evens brah.

Laine's an incredible sniper, but he's a) not a center b) doesn't drive his line.

To me, it's basically a Crosby vs. Ovi type of discussion, where the two aren't really comparable, despite everyone wanting to compare the two.

They're BOTH great young players to be sure, however, they play different positions and mean different things to their respective teams.

On top of that, Matthews in his first year played less minutes, with all rookies, and didnt play with Mark Shiefele

Dont forget we have different equipment now / sticks that little skinny kids shoot the puck 90mph

Better programs for working out - etc etc

Some of the goalies look like they sucked more but some of those guys were shooting with 2/4's

He got slammed to the shadow realm or something, he'll be back. And better than Laine.

Petterssen reminds me of a Marner, but with a better shot.

LOL. Like I said, they started lining up 2.5 hours before the store opened today. It hits you differently eating it, then smoking it too.
- bixll

Lol how was the weather while in the line?

I have smoked before but only super casually and went like 10 years without having any until fairly recently. Edibles are way stronger I think but I would not be surprised if there are exceptions considering I have not had 99% of the strains out there probably. Other than it just being fun I have to say it improves my sleep like 100x too and my busted knees feel golden when I have it lol.

I saw some vid with oel in 80s gear and it was amazing. He could barely hit the net and I think he was shooting like 20 mph slower off slapshot's. Wish I could find it again

It's smart not to get too excited this early but he may very well be better. He looks like a superstar
