btw.. all this Matthews>McDavid poop i always joke about is out of pure boredom. Connor is king.. It's so ironic how the best player of a generation who adores and was supposed to play for the Leafs is rotting in a province who doesn't deserve him at all. And to top things off some kid from (frank)ing Arizona of all places will be the one to lead the most iconic (tied with mtl) franchise to a cup.

I honestly can't see how, on the day of the 2010 draft, if you showed any adult of a reasonable intelligence level (not too high, not too low), one hockey game on TV, then explained the rules, they could have built a worse team over that 8 year period.

That person would have access to draft magazines, and be allowed to make trades, sign Free Agents and hire backroom staff.

I don't think more than a handful of people on this earth, would have the team looking in as bad a shape as it is now.

And the craziest thing is, there really is no way to fix it.

Kaberle played 69 games in 01/02 but I'm not sure how many of those were missed because of the contract dispute but if it was all of them, it'd be 13.

It'd be nice to have a Kaberle right now. It's been a long time since the Leafs plucked a good European defenceman in the late rounds. Too bad Burke threw Stralman to the curb, he'd be a perfect fit right now.
