You might have a few guys buzzing around the 20 goal mark. Sutter Sven Jake
- VANTEL

That'd be nice for sure, but as I said, on a consistent basis, those guys don't factor in much. They get points here and there, like Baertschi, he's got five points but he had three of them in one of six games. Jake had two or his three points in one game. Sutter is excellent on the PK and he chips in offensively on occasion but those guys don't stir the drink.

the suspension of 2 games is a shameful disgrace...obvious intent to injure...he committed a damn felony...every bit as cheap, dirty and deliberate as what wilson does...

15 games min...nhl player safety my ass

- bogiedoc

Calm down Ajax. Mathy went too far, but a two game suspension for someone with no history of violence is a significant penalty, especially when you consider he is loosing out on almost $120,000 in salary with this suspension.

20 might be a bit optimistic, but if things break right there could be a whole whack of 14-18 goal players on the team which would be a nice change from like the 4th highest goal scorer having 9 or whatever.

Looks like Tanner's prediction of the Coyotes winning the division are about right on par with his past predictions #bestlineupinhockey

NHL salary is paid out in league days. He'll only miss 2 days since it's a first offence. I think you either need a repeat offence or 3 within a timespan to lose the full time-under-suspension of his salary.

So take his salary divided by like 186(?) and then he misses two of those.

I think goldobin has been one of the best canucks in the first 5 games. Despite not registering a shot tonight, i thought he was making good plays and good passes all night. I think he is one of the better play makers on the team. I think he gets 30-40 points this year minimum this year

He will probably lead the Comets in scoring this year, after Boucher gets called up.

They do. I like erikson with them in the neautral zone and defensive zone, but they are always alone creating offense. Makes me wonder if they give roussel a shot. They played the least amount of minutes tonight as line when when pettersson isnt playing.

I think its Eriksson's job until Green feels confident those two won't play pond hockey without a baby sitter. Probably a February-ish move assuming things like health/performance stay how they have.

Ah, i just took 2/82 out. That makes more sense to me, because no matter how many days he misses, he can’t play for 2 games. But if it’s days, then he will miss however many days it is for the next two games, not two days, no?

Those two provide a massive chunk of the offense of this team, with eriksson being the beneficiary of 3 points (all assists). Im not sure we agree on who is babysitting who lol. Defensively, goldobin has his moments, but pettersson in his short time has shown capable of playing all 3 zones.

its complicated math but I read a breakdown somewhere when Wilson got his 20 games.

Basically how often you're a dippoop determines how they take your money away.

Because Wilson has X-number of offences he misses every day of pay until he is active again. And because he is a repeat offended its based of his cap hit and not his salary. So he's losing like 25% of his 5.2 cap hit which means he has to pay back signing bonus money since his salary this year is less than what he has to surrender in the suspension.

But Matheson, or any first offender, just loses the days of salary (not cap hit, no bonus inclusion) pay in which the next two games occur.

He has, but rookies start hot and lose steam all the time. Maybe by game 27 Eriksson is doing more defensive lifting for that line than he's shown so far.

Its not too unlike when Burrows was Horvat's baby sitter in either his rookie or sophomore year.

I just read Tim Schaller is dating Aly Raisman, non hockey related story, but interesting non the less.

She's a three time Olympic Gold Medalist and a prominent critic of USA Gymnastics after she was sexually abused by Dr. Larry Nasser. In case you're wondering who she is.

Back to hockey....

Yeah, I just read something that was very complicated and lawyery. But basically what you said is correct, first offenders pay in days and repeat offenders pay in games.

Anyway, his two “day” suspension will cost him just over $50k. That’s a new car right there.
