Maybe I just had too much to drink, but I thought I saw Gardiner make some good plays in his own zone. Maybe he's focusing more on that than the offense right now? That being said though, he's making nice passes all over the ice...doesn't really look checked out to me

But if anyone believes saying you cannot smoke weed on the sidewalk will prevent people from doing so, considering they are already doing it right now and it's still illegal is just silly.

Ban it from parks, fine. Ban it from anywhere you also cannot smoke, fine.

Let the potheads smoke while taking a walk in peace.

Oh and let the tourists enjoy it too... if we're gonna legalize the thing might as well make a few bucks out of it.

Hainsey needs to move down, Dermott needs to slide up at some point this season.

Assuming we roll with the same D all year:

Gardiner Rielly
Dermott Zaitsev
Hainsey Oz

Hainsey is fine on static D on the PK, but can't keep up on speedy transitional plays and puck retrieval in his own end against top lines.

Gardiner and Rielly play well together; they were excellent against WAS two years ago.

Dermott would be a good fit with Z I think; Z can break the cycle, Dermott steps up well and is pretty good on the break-out/transitional plays.

Hainsey would still get prime PK minutes, be part of a solid bottom pairing.

Dermott looked really solid last night...some nice fakes/feigns to give himself a lot more room.

I think Hainsey has looked ok too though....he may not be very quick anymore ( ever? ) but he's usually in a pretty good position and takes care of the puck when he does get it. ( for the most part ) JMO

Nobody enforces the 10 meter policy anyways. Even if a security guard asks people to stop smoking so close to the building, they never do.

I am pretty sure that Matthews numbers over the past 2 years are higher without Willie on his line. But Willies numbers are far higher while on Matthews line.
