The arena staff there is terrible. I went to a game with my cousins and we got asked to be quiet for trying to start a "Go Canucks Go" chant without Jumbotron telling us to say it.

They confiscate signs at the door all the time unless its like a 6 yr old with a "canucks r best ever". They kicked a dude out a game years ago because he brought a drum and was using it to drum the beat of a chant.

Only been to Rogers and Saddledome

Flames fans are definitely more rowdy

The Flames game I went to wasn't even anything special. It was like a February or January game against the Islanders and the Flames were poop that year too. Crowd still was pumped up for the game.

It’s a thing with the Canucks. I swear.

Think of the times when the Canuck crowd showed something unique or spontaneous. Something like the clapper or the green men. Regardless of how stupid they were it was put down by the organization.

It must have to do with lack of control or ownership or something. I don’t get it.

Depending who you want to believe, one of The Brothers only lets the DJ play songs and sounds that he approves nowadays after I guess attending a game in the late 00s, not liking the music, and then giving the DJ an approved playlist and saying that is the new game soundtrack.

But the same poopty top40 pop you get at a fake hipster club makes for a wicked atmosphere at a hockey game.

My dad went to Nashville and San Jose last year and wouldn't stop talking about how good the arena music, atmosphere and fans were. Still brings it up all the time

I went to games in Vancouver, Edmonton, Phoenix and Minnesota last year and I'd take the atmosphere in Phoenix over the atmosphere in Vancouver. They were both like 14k crowds but the 14k in Phoenix loved the poop out of that team and had some energy. The 14k in Vancouver felt like they were waiting for the game to finish so they could leave as soon as the puck dropped.

(frank) cares. They're loud about hockey and no one was saying they got Brodie in the Iginla trade.

I'm tired of hearing dudes in an uncustomized blue sweater at a Canucks game say the "McCann trade worked out well because we also got Stecher in it" or "trading for Eriksson hasn't really worked out" or "Hutton was a great grab in free agency"

It’s not the staff, it’s the crowd. The staff would rather tell you to shut up than listen to 200 people tell them to tell you to shut up.

I like that but would never happen.

Remember the days when home ice advantage meant something? When buildings had a personality and at times could be considered the 7th man.

Now the NHL wants to pastoriize the experience. Too bad

- bloatedmosquito

Yeah, the counter to my proposal would be not wanting to give the other team any bulletin board ammo, but honestly, there is nothing you could do to fire up Mathy to actually be good at the hockey.

it's not 200 is the problem . it's a vocal minority that takes the time to whine and our PC society won't allow them to be offended

Vancouver has had a harder time shaking the stigma of two riots than Germany after two world wars.

Also, our riots were multicultural as fck. Take note world. That’s how you tear shlt up, PC style.

Thoughts from Green, Horvat and Roussel. They all say no one knew about the slam (despite having an iPad lol). Canucks fans are taking things too far once again. With that being said, they could have at least yelled at the guy? Called him mean? I don’t think they would get a penalty for saying mean things

Wow....a two game suspension for that? I thought it was a dirty play throwing him to the ground like that AFTER the initial hit, but man, that's very surprising!

Anyways, Gaudette is gonna be very good, hopefully he pops a few so we can forget about Dekey Pete for a few games while he recovers.

They made it pretty clear in the video they suspended him for being a pissbaby after getting deked out and then hitting a Ura-Nage.
