I am not sure how you missed, but I won't question it. Admittedly, the camera wasn't panned in on Pettersson when the throw down happened, but as soon as john and john had the camera fixated on Pettersson trying to get up and being wobbly, the replay essentially followed, on my feed anyway.

This team didn't even breathe in Matheson's direction after the hit.

I didn't see a dirty play or think anything of it during the game . I am not defending them I am giving my point of view.

This fanbase has a right to be upset. I’ve seen the Flyers fanbase get upset that only a scrum and a few hits were thrown on a guy who leveled a Flyer earlier in the game. They demand a beatdown in a fight.


Canuck fans are just asking for a scrum or even 1 hit at least.

That’s just it. Why do you only have to respond to a dirty play (not that the Canucks do that)? What’s wrong with matching physicality with physicality. Pettersson is going to get whacked and slashed and faced washed and hit over and over and most of the time it will be perfectly legal. He should just get used to it? Hit back, whack back, slash back. You don’t have to go head hunting to make your presence felt. And you don’t have to go head hunting to show that you can make life just as hard for their players as they can for yours.
