Was Dion that young? (frank), feeling old. - AdamFrench
I had a similar reaction lol
looking at MIN cap..Dumba makes 6 now until he is like 30..so thats decent. but id rather have Willy on the team at 6.5-7 for the next 8 years
Also..Parise contract.. goes until 2025
the $$ dont even take a big dip until the is like 38
just yikes. You can see now the value in loading up the signing bonuses early like the Leafs did with JT..even though you cant do the back diving thing anymore |

it would be something special to see Matthews take 11x8
a true leader and team player and Leaf for life.
BAM - Lucas.Neilson
thats what I predicted the other day...he can take the same as JT. |

Its a different scenario in my opinion, Obviously the UFA years are relevant but this also buys matthews entire prime (maybe 3 more years on the back end) while JT will almost certainly decline in the last 2-3 years of his deal. Maybe that balances with UFA years bought, maybe it doesnt, im not a GM but its a very different scenario. |

JT deal out of his entry one was for 5.5m x 6.If we are comparing the 2.
I am just saying, I could see AM taking a deal at 11 x 7 or 8 years.
to be able to keep all the other players around, JT has now taken less than he could have in both his deals.
Or i am way off. thats ok also |

Your team is STACKED... Matthews is quickly becoming the BEST player in the NHL, that is both good news and bad for you guys. Your problem is you have too many great young players on your team that are going to command BIG $$$$. You will never be able to afford all of them. I say trade Nylander for as much has you can get...
With that said, I love the offense you have, it is so much fun to watch your team play.. I can only hope that my Sabres start to turn the corner soon, it is always a ton of fun when the Maple Leafs and Sabres are good at the same time...

have to think a bridge deal would almost guarantee he is gone at the end of the bridge because of the uptick in cost. There is just so much talent on that team and it all needs money. - headyhedman77
That's cool.
If we win the cup and he's earned a big pay raise, then trade for an area of need.
Im fine with that.
If its a small raise, they could keep him. |

Last time I was at a game where Sparks was in net he finished the game with a career SV% of 100% and GAA of 0.00.
I'll try and repeat the magic tonight
