Karlsson has not been very good in his new home. Not been very good since he hurt his leg.

I think second half of last year he was back to his old self.
The thing is, he has a career minus.
I get the arguments against +/- but there are a couple things the advanced stats guys like to ignore
1) Sample Size.. because goals are relatively rare events, +/- can be misleading over a small sample size. In this case however, we are talking about his career so the sample size is pretty reasonable. Also, last I looked, he was the ONLY one of what anyone would call the "top" defensemen in the league who was a minus. So we have a large group of samples, and he stands out.
2) The biggest argument against +/- is that it is a team stat (So is Corsi to a very large extent, but let's ignore than inconvenient reality). Again, I can buy into that argument, BUT, I am pretty sure he wasn't a contributing factor on every Ottawa goal, and he wasn't an innocent party on every goal against.
Once it goes on for this long, I don't care how bad some people think the stat is, it becomes quite telling.
Bottom line... His teams have been scored on 5v5 more than they have scored, when he is on the ice over the course of his career.
