Will always love them, but have to admit seasons of Hak hockey are sucking the life out of me hah.
(Regular season only)
Fred Shero - 554 games
Mike Keenan - 320 games
Peter Laviolette - 272 games
Paul Holmgren - 264 games
John Stevens - 263 games
Pat Quinn - 262 games
Ken Hitchcock - 254 games
Hak - 251
If he stays to the end of the year he moves into 3rd. - flyer_nutter
I prefer a coach with a little more pizazz myself. Seemed like the Flyers PR dept made a little push at the beginning of the season to make him look more likeable. |

Its been my favorite show for 14 seasons. Sounds like fun actually being middle aged myself!
- MBFlyerfan
It's been pretty awesome. This one was headlined by Misha Collins. If you get a chance you should go to one at least. The Fandom is really accepting just don't bring up any of the "shipping" topics..
Was a great time and I have no shame in admitting like you said that it's been my fav show for years now. |

That is actually amazing. It really doesn't feel like he has been here long at all. - MBFlyerfan
When it comes to Flyer coaches, getting in 4 full seasons doesn’t happen much.
Shero
Keenan
Murray
and, assuming he finishes this season, Hak
That’s it
Hell, Shero is the only one in franchise history to make 5 full seasons or more |

No, you are pretending that the height his head was while skating changed, and it didn’t! And I have no intention of attacking the victim of this dangerous hit for his low skating style. Again the hitter is taller than him. You are, in fact, missing the whole point—the hitter very clearly targets the head from behind, as he was in fact behind him the whole play. You don’t see a play just like this very often since most players don’t hit from behind and know not to target the opponent’s head.
You keep talking about Lindblom turning, so what? Would it have been better to get pushed head first. A hit under this circumstance was illegal too.
I did misspeak slightly calling the smash point the boards when it was the glass part. I was using the term boards broadly. - NC Flyers Fan
The height of his head absolutely changed. Lindblom is listed at 6'1" I believe, yet his head was at the level of the glass just above where the boards meet the glass. Common sense is all you need to know that it did. This was not a hit where the head was targeted. The impact was made on the head of Lindblom due to Lindblom changing his posture right before the hit. The hitter is 6'4" I believe. The 3 inch disparity in height does not account for Linblom's head position relative to the hitter, McNabb.

Once again not the point, but if I had to guess... the top of his helmet looks 58 to 59 inches off the ice. If the boards are approximately 42 inches where the glass meets; then Lindblom’s neck, head, and helmet measure about 16 inches tall.
Completely irrelevant! - NC Flyers Fan
It is completely relevant. Lindblom turning back because he slightly overskated the puck is what lowered the position of his head. You're also wrong about McNabb's arm or elbow being up and extended. It was not. Freeze this video at the point of impact at 1:06 and you can clearly see that McNabb's arm is neither extended or raised and how Lindblom is obviously hunched down to the point where his head is below McNabb's chest area. The video is irrefutable evidence that you're wrong.

I have viewed the video at length. The one you linked is clipped. You choose to see only what you want. You are the one that is incorrect. The video of the arm extended, first to the head of Lindblom, and the follow up of the rest of McNabb’s body.

Minor point, but the PR/media dept (Zack Hill, Joe Siville, Brian Smith) is a separate department from marketing (Joe Heller and his staff). But I don't think either have anything to do with this. Hakstol did the Mike Sielski feature, felt it turned out well and was amenable to doing a video with Jim. There is no "campaign" to make Hakstol more "likeable to the public." I think Hakstol himself is finally getting a little more comfortable loosening up with the media guys. He has been better at that since start of camp, although the guard still goes up at times |

It's not clipped. It shows the entire hit. You're own video proves you wrong on multiple fronts. At the point of impact, McNabb's arm is neither elevated or extended. Your own video also shows that your statement that Lindblom's back was always to McNabb is also incorrect. You can also see in the video you linked how Lindblom abruptly changes direction and lowers his body. You have it wrong with every element of the hit. |

Have to have the players. He coached the team to the playoffs last season in a very tough Metro division. |

Keep drinking that kool-aid, MJL! Only see what you want.
The skaters are tied until the top of the circle, then on Lindblom is a step ahead.

I think some of the criticisms of Hakstol are kind of silly and of the "Hey, I played NHL on the PS4 this one time and I know what I'm doing" variety.
On the other hand, his usage of Brian Elliot early last year and his seeming lack of understanding of when to use timeouts, and some tactical in-game decisions make me wonder.
He's in his 4th year and I do think the time to excuse Hakstol's decisions because of the roster is coming to a close. I don't think he is a bad coach and the team seems to like him. They need to start winning. |

I think hes done a pretty damn good job given the roster that the flyers iced since hes been here. Playoffs 2 of 3 years. but but but 1st round exits. They were no match for the President trophy winning Caps and the other against the Pens, the two time defending Cup champs that the gutless puke Blue Jackets iced an ECHL roster on the final day to avoid matching up with them.
Hak isnt perfect, I agree, has in game metrics that i would like him to improve on but hes done a far better job than he is credited with....mostly because he played VDV or benched TK and Sanheim or he doesnt show emotion and people hate his hair |

laug out loud. A couple games into the season and the sky is falling. This is still a very young team with some key player injuries right now. Let’s remember how opening night felt and the Flyers beat Vagas. Now the Flyers struggle a bit and the world is terrible and Hak needs to be fired. |

I’m not saying I respect the opinion of the majority of Flyers fans. Just saying that he’s not well liked by most fans. Of course he’s not solely to blame for the performance of the team. He also doesn’t seem to be adding much beyond just being a capable coach. |
