The lower the deal...the more tradeable he is...he's scared.
- Woderwick

i watch the Blues Blackhawk game list night... Willy's going to look great in the Blues 3rd jersey (throwback)...

and Paryako is going to look great in Blue and White

seriously, the Blues are not a fast team at all.. and it shows. All the guys they signed and traded for a good players... but they lack a catalyst... Nylander would be a great fit.

Leafs played their best game of the season so far against the toughest opponent to date. Depth players contributing. Good sign.

All true Mike. You should try and inform your boss so he stops posting the made up foolishness about offer sheets and sign-and-trades all the time.

Nylander knows there is a high chance of him getting traded next season - but he's got the conditions on that wrong:
If he is on a contract that is 1-1.5mnl / year higher than mark stone is willing to sign with leafs, it means he's shipped off in exchange for a dman or a good package.
Better accept a 6 year deal worth 5.85mln/per..

amen brogina. I cant stand the twat faced fan base who think trading for a dman fixes all the problems. The fix will be internal. Not by making bad trades for the sake of it .
- systemtool

You dont make a bad trade, you make a good one. Not a hard concept. If you get a chance to greatly increase the backend you do it.
If not, keep nylander.....if he signs for a decent price.

This exactly. No need to push to one side...it’ll work out in the end and the Leafs will get a good player out of it. No rush either...

Nothing wrong with trading from area of strength to strengthen an area of weakness.

If it is Nylander for the right dman, it would be a good trade for the Leafs.

Again, I am not talking about just any potential top 4 guy, I am talking about the right top pairing dman - or no trade!

If you could grab a Provorov type for Nylander, you do it.

- Cooshie

I think most smart leaf fans have said or believe the exact same thing.
A good trade, only if needed.

Couldnt agree more. We have dmen coming in lilegren, Sandin, Durzi, and Rasanen.

I'd only look to trade prospects like bracco, or maybe roster players like Brown, and Johnsson

- Archaic

Cool, so with those guys in a trade we'll upgrade our 5/6 D spots, which we dont need.

Chances are not all those D prospects will become top 4. Which is where we need to upgade

thanks tips.

my point was the leafs need to fix their d internally and not seek a miracle player magically fixing anything. yes sure trade nylander for lidstrom in your dreams all day, but the reality is defense is a team concept and the team has to do better at it, regardless if they trade nylander for chelios lidstrom pronger and 5 first round picks. not a hard concept indeed.

The most likely scenario is probably Nylander signs long term and Leafs trade for Edler at the deadline

I like Ryan Pulock on the Isles. I wonder if it’s possibke to get him somehow without Nylander.

Good young D that has a fantastic slap shot. He has been playing top mins so far this season.

Maybe Lou has a soft spot for a few players on the Leafs.

Problem is the trades people suggest here are not good ones. And the get more desperate by the day.

Good thing GM Doobie isn’t as dumb as Chiapet.

Doubt that. Lou isn’t GM anymore. No 2nds for 4th liners at the deadline I hope.

I've heard about that feeling several times, never quite understood how that sensation felt like though. Sounds like you know only too well...

Guy just casually walked around Karlsson.

He's so bad defensively.

Ah I didn't know you were a super scout who knew exactly where each player would fit in the NHL perfectly.

Oh right you have no idea. I'd rather let our prospects get a chance and see where they fit then trade a number 1 line right winger.
