which is why he isnt signed yet. hes not getting 8m here. having duchene dzingel and stone as your top offensive threats is far more problematic. focus on that.

not having your own first rounder in a tank year is also problematic.

Well, it is Eklund talking to his neighbour's dog again so do not put much creadence into this. It seems that Louis Gross and poppa Nylander have convinced William that he somehow justifies Driseitl type money.....he does NOT. I would hate to see this kid upset the Leaf payroll at the price of keeping Marner or solidifying the D. Screw that Willy.

ALL OFFER SHEETS are divided by 5 years. No matter how much money or how long the contract.

SO if a team decides to give Nylander 7.5 mill for 7 years, that comes to $52.5mill total.

$52.5mill / 5 years = $10.5mill which means the team would have to give up 4 1sts in compensation.

Leafs know this, Eklund not so much, and so that is why no offer sheet is forthcoming.

There are no trades or offer sheets coming. Sit back and relax. Leafs will have Nylander signed on Nov 1.
