But at least Bennett scored. Maybe the boy is finding his finish.

I’ve always thought him and Nurse would be a great fight.

Nurse would (frank) him up, I know Bennett is stronger than he looks but Nurse would definitely beat the poop outta him in a fight where punches are actually thrown/landed.

I don’t know. Has Nurse ever fought Manson? Bennett held his own in that fight(although I don’t think he was looking to fight that dude).

I thought for sure Neal would be a top line guy but Lindholm is perfect! I think he’ll have a career year.

What a rally for the boys! Totally dominated the last half of the game. Good effort from the whole team top to bottom i though after the first 30 mins.

Haha. I bet some of the Avs fans were 3 minutes late getting to their seats and then left 3 minutes early to be first out of the parking lot.

they both came out of that scrap pretty bloody if I remember. Bennett going up against Trouba and Manson are no easy scraps.

Rass had a hell of a game I'd rank him above Hamonic on the depth chart. I'm predicting his play alongside Hanifin over the next few games will give Peters a good enough excuse to keep them together.

That leave's Hamonic and Stone battling it out for that last spot (Valimaki drives that pairing and isn't going anywhere). I guess it's okay to keep Stone around until we're healthy, but I don't imagine Hamonic or Stone would be happy with extended press box duty.

Something has to give here ... I wonder if Brad pulls the trigger on a Nylander deal (if our goaltending settles down and that contract dispute drags on)?

Hamonic
Frolik
Pick/Mangiapane?

Nylander
Pick/prospect?

That makes our roster:

Gaudreau Monahan Nylander
Tkachuk Backlund Lindholm
Bennett Janko Neal
Ryan Dube Czarnik
Hathaway

Gio Brodie
Hanifin Rass
Valimaki Stone
Prout

That gives us quite a bit of firepower up front and a pretty solid core group of players. I like the changes BT has made so far, but I just think he has one more big move planned. Bobrovsky or Nylander could both fit the bill...

Nylander probably isn't worth 8 million a year, and the Flames can't afford 8 million a year.

If the Leafs do end up moving Nylander, they're probably going to want more than two broken down veterans who can't really keep up anymore and a pick.

Toronto can't really afford him either, but if I'm Toronto, I'm only trading him if I'm getting at least 2 first round picks back.

Flames don't need anymore firepower (no pun intended) they need a true #1 in net. Rittich was solid but he's not gonna be good for anything more than 30 games this year imo. Smith is as inconsistent as Elliott was, since his return from injury

Nylander is probably worth 7 mill, given his stats, the league average, age, etc etc etc. I don't think TOR entertains Nylanders right's for Hamonic (slowed down quite a bit in the last few years, but still has tread), Frolik (a good player in his own right, but on the wrong side of his prime years, and a pick/prospect. No offense, but I think he hauls a legit top 4, or fringe top 2 defenseman (TOR is lacking)

I am thinking this trade for Lindholm and Hanifin has looked pretty good. Not to impressed with Ryan or Neal so far...pretty much invisible.
Not invisible ....Dube, Valimaki and Czarnik...definitely keepers.

My prediction is Cory Schneider. It was already rumored that Calgary was sniffing around with him before they pulled the trigger with Smith. At that time the asking price was to high but since than his value has definitely gone down and there back up is getting the job done.

I believe he has 3 years left on a 6 million dollar contract, which is a perfect stop gap in my onion.

If BT could some how unload Froliks contract I wouldn't mind seeing Cory in red.
