Season just beginning, this was nothing like the other home loss. Good game! Too bad we didn’t get at least a point out of it. Thought maybe Coots had been out too long, awkward looking line or non-line change and I couldn’t track our d-men on that. |

You could make the argument that McNabb could've held up some but that is not a strong argument. Not really a suspendable play because of how Lindblom changed his angle and body position. - MJL
He finished by driving his forearm into the back of Oskar Lindblom's head, but ok.
The officials agreed with your take on this, so everything is fine. |

Yes, he absolutely finished with his forearm into the back of his head. I referenced that in a previous post, but ok.

For sure....Fluery made the huge save with the game on the line. Tough, tough loss. But if they can play like that more often then not they’ll be fine. If there’s one criticism it’s that they needed to get pucks to the net with some pressure. They didn’t do it until the end. - landros 2
They should have played more aggressive from the start. They are playing a team on end of their road trip! And flyers made them look better than they are, If you have watched Vegas trip this is a mediocre team right now. And I doubt Sharks will score 8 again on the rod. |

That’s the problem I had as well. It looked like a forearm up high. The hit itself was kinda unavoidable because of Lindblom’s change of direction. |

I’m a fan of this team but you can’t really say they aren’t one of the more boring clubs in the NHL. Aggressive is not their style.
Passive, North/South, and D first. No real scrums or intensity. Hak hockey is sucking the life out of me. Slowly but surely hah. |

That is not an accurate description of how the Flyers play.

Bad sequence for Coots, but that kid is the least of Flyer problems. |

For sure, it was still a good game.
Thought the hit on Lindblom was dirty. Obviously Lindblom changed position, but there was no reason for the elbow to be up and the hit could/should have been minimized.

Lindblom's head was near the bottom of the glass near the dasher of the boards. That's where McNabb's forearm made contact with Lindblom. That's not having an elbow up.

Game should not have down to that late goal but it did and Coots blew his coverage after a failed clear. Missed calls, missed scoring chances. Good pk i thought. Weise and Lehtera looking like NHL players. Offense will get going but we cannot let these points slip away.
I may be overreacting because it is still early but we do not look like a playoff team. No marked improvements from last season. |

Yes it was. Bent at the elbow and extended up and out.

At about the height of a players waist or slightly higher. That is not up. |

Regardless of height, he leads with the arm extended, elbow and forearm to the head. Exactly what the league is looking to avoid and it was avoidable.

We’ve literally have been saying how aggressive their PK has been this season.
Flyers are always strong on the forecheck. |

Gray area in terms of being avoidable. McNabb was committed to the hit, Lindblom turned sharply in the other direction and lowered his body and put his head in the area to get hit. I'll be surprised if there is a suspension. How Lindblom changed his posture is a big key. |

It is not gray, you see his head, you lower your elbow and ease up. Hit minimized. But better yet, never lead with the elbow/forearm. If it is not extended, it wouldn’t have looked bad.

There is nothing illegal about leading into a check with a forearm into a players midsection. It's done all the time. Lindblom lowered his posture which put his head in that area. The gray area is that although it was possible for McNabb to let up, he didn't have much time.

Incorrect. Although Lindblom turns, his height does not change significantly. His posture was the same just turned backwards.

His head rammed into the glass just above the boards. Is Lindblom a midget?
