Simmonds is very physical. He wins board battles. He’s a leader, which this team really lacks. He stands up for his teammates. He’s probably the toughest skilled guy in the league. He’s the second highest PP scorer to OV since he got to Philadelphia.

Dude we all know you love simmer. Like obsessed. And we all know he's good. No one is arguing that. The question is can we afford him at the cap hit he wants and if in 2 years that deal won't be good awful. He still doesn't bring anything at 5 on 5 and we have young power forwards in the pipe. We've had this discussion a hundred times and every time you refuse to look at the bigger picture. I hope they can resign him to a short term deal even if it requires a higher cap but he will probably want the max he can get and the flyers should think long and hard about giving him that.

Really good effort today.....best two periods by the D on a whole ...all year. Gap control, really good today, with only a few odd man rushes. Without Fluery, Flyers would be up a few.....Hopefully Laughton ok, he really is playing good right now.

Starting to open up finally. Looked like a 90s Devils game to long.

A part of me hopes that the guy inside Gritty is just showing his real personality and it’s not staged. That the marketing guys have just run with it.

Today MacDonald has been good.

One trick pony that for all his talk of grit I don’t really see a whole lot of it outside of the PP.

He’s not a POS but I would love if they explore a trade. Here is to hoping.

He lost puck battles, turned the puck over (just did again), and looks uncomfortable with the puck on his stick.

MacDonald has been fine in this game. Provorov in that second period had 4 really poor turnovers.

Stating that Simmonds doesn't bring anything at 5 on 5 is complete nonsense. Part of the big picture that some apparently refuse to look at is that Simmonds is still a very good player and looks to be healthy this season.
