Or Sutter becomes a trade option?

I'd say beagle... but we all know that he's untradable with that albatross contract.

If he gets two games (which is serious) then what does it say about the reffing? The ref was in a perfect position to see the whole infraction.

Id be surprised if its anything more than the 5k fine.

I've seen it about 20 times now. There's no can opening at all. As EP plays the puck he pins him against the boards off his feet and then throws him down once he is completely off balance.

I've seen it 4 times now on the morning news. Matheson's stick is clearly between Pettersson's legs. I think you choose not to see it.

That is kind of my thought but also I think there is too much intent there not to be a game or two.

It says less about the ref and more about how the league views Vancouver.

To be fair, i think a lot of people missed it, myself included. The stick is 100% between petterssons legs, but still not sure its necessarily used as a "can opener". Still think its more so matheson throwing pettersson while off balance.

Think about what it would be like if that tumbler of orange pop actually hit Bettman during the cup presentation? It was so close. Lol.

It's the complete lack of pushback. Not even some beaking & chirping. Nothing. Sweet f*ck all. Nada.
That's what pisses me off so much. I love old time hits & throw downs like that but I want to see my team turn into a savage attack pack. I want to see a lot of major penalties and misconducts.
That was so disheartening last night.

Again, youre missing what im putting down. All news is essentially broken through the media, canuck official or not. Rick had a phone convo with his agent about it, which is where we heard it first. But until yesterday, i havent seen murph, botch, imac, or any of the big time media queens say anything about it. Its been pretty quiet.

Thats all i was trying to say lol

It really is a nothing story.

Anyone can escalate anything.

I want Benning gone too as I said he is in over his head .

He has done some good obvious but this team needs a cleansing to get away from the schlepprock image.

The thing that bothers me is everything gets blown out of proportion. Everything is under a huge telescope (not magnifying glass) I don't bother with Botch Pratt or anyone that wants to raise their fist in rage.

We have won two very close defensive games and put in a fair amount of goals along the way. Roussel scored . Beagle and Schaller kept the puck out of the net along with Sutters line.

I am happy with the start of they year.

100% agreeance. The lack of pushback is 100x worse than the play itself. Its the hypocrisy of benning saying that vets and ufas will create safe environments for rookies, gudbranson saying the team needs to bond together, and he can't be the only one taking liberties, and sutter talking about the size of team mates balls. Its just disheartening to see zero response.

Chompsey?

Stringer??

lol

I missed the 3rd period, just catching up now. That was a dirty takedown, EP was off balance which makes it easy to toss someone down and Matheson knew it and he was pissed off you could see it. Wasn't there something before that to with EP on the forecheck where Matheson went down. The response was typical canuck crap which I don't like. Jv knocked a tampa guy down and 3 guys were bumping him by the bench and they got nothing so why not just do that, just do something good lord, you don't have to goon him just do something.

I don't think your young star getting thrown to the ice and concussed is a 'nothing story'. Your hate for skilled Swedish Canucks is well documented over the years, I shouldn't be surprised by your dismissive response.

Right on! Nobody gives a (frank) about wins and loses this season. I believe the majority of fans have acknowledged that.
What most are looking for is a new team identity and attitude post twins.

So far it’s same old, same old. Which is aggravating.

I see your point, but its the exact opposite imo. This wasnt a blown out of proportion story, and it was probably a story that would have been justified had it been more covered (concussions are prevalent and a huge issue in sports). Seeing 1 or 2 media guys cover it isnt really it being blown out if porportion imo, and no one is really making it a big deal. People calling for bennings head, and all the media covering and getting to the bottom of whether gagner got a phone call when waived would be the definition of the media blowing it out of proportion imo.

Exactly!!! And that opportunity was missed big time.
For a nothing story, it seems to be getting a lot of attention.

Its funny that green and the players talk about the importance of two points, but fail to inject push back for the player who has primarily given the canucks an opportunity to gain any over the start of the first 5 games.
