I would agree, Matthews 9 goals in five games are certainly equal to McDavids two Art Ross trophies two Ted Lindsay trophies and his Hart trophy at age 21 |

I am.
Now I am ethically obligated to treat your burn.
Start with running it under cold water.
I also golf; when you put it in a tee I had to hit it. |

9 goals>>>5 trophies.
And McDavid couldn’t even win a Calder trophy 🤣

Matthews, Tavares, Marner, Kadri and Rielly.
Not one team you mentioned throws that combined power out on 1 line. |

Ek has it exactly backwards. Matthews deserves less than mcdavid but will get paid more, maybe even considerably more. - Aetherial
One could argue that Matthews is better in tight spaces and has a better shot/release than McDavid. Matthews has been better on the power play. The Rocket Richard, Art Ross and Hart trophies are all within reach for Matthews this year.
When McDavid signed for $12.5M per year, his annual cap hit was 16.67% of the total team cap of $75M. The number was acknowledged to have given the team a discount.
Is it unreasonable for Matthews to sign for 16.67% of the team cap of $85M for an annual salary of $14.167M?

Step 1: Leafs should've picked Laine. Ha. Stoopid Laffs
Step 2: Matthews is a pretty good player, but is so overrated by Laffs fans and the Toronto Sports Network. Ha. Stoopid Laffs.
Step 3: poopz, Matthews is good, Leafs won't be able to pay him. He deserves to be the highest paid player in the league. Ha. Stoopid Laffs. - walshyleafsfan

Ill also give it a try. Tavares will end up being better then Crosby ever was in the next few years, and Freddy Anderson will win the Vezina, and end up being better then Brodeur/Roy combined.
These are the only logical conclusions. |

A little sensitive on the subject of cap hits for your better players? - SensFan25
Bud, the Sens can't even afford to spend to 75% of the cap - where do you think that will get you when they draft Hughes next year first overall? Oh wait, that's right...the Sens also have terrible management to go along with its ownership and fan base. Good luck with that. |

Feck yeah.
I'd take the 4 1st round picks for Willy. Do it up Hex. - walshyleafsfan
Hextall only trades for picks and does not trade them. He traded Schenn for two late firsts and had to eat Lehtara's salary. what a freaking moron he is, only in Philly do they think that was a good deal haha flyers suck in every way |

I agree that the leaf powerplay has all the ingredients to be successful, Marner an elite playmaker, Mathews and Tavares elite finishers, Kadri a really nice net presence and Rielly with excellent mobility, smarts and a great shot. Go Leafs and leave Kapanen with Mathews and trade Nylander to the Oilers for Bouchard and Nurse. Done deal. |

Fake News.
Pens 20.0%
Bruins 44.4%
Caps 37.5%
Colorado 33.3%
Blues 25%
Jets 20%
Only Dallas at 50%, who's not on your list.
Last year only one team had a better PP% than the Leafs - PIT at 26.2%, Leafs at 25%. The Leafs have only increased the level of talent year-over-year on their PP. |

Matthews linemates are Marleau and Kapanen.
McD's are RNH and Rattie.
Not such a glaring difference.
On the power play is where no other team can match the Leafs with that first unit on the ice. - Cooshie
No because they have 3 or 4 skaters to the Leafs 5. |
