Another thing, I want Hak gone as much as anyone but who are the replacements?
I’ll bet my ass you see Lappy or Gordon. - flyer_nutter

The Hershey Bears were the Flyers' AHL affiliate between 1984 and 1996. Three Bears' players during that span are in the AHL Hall of Fame. Can you name them? |

Wait, did I blame Elliot for last night? If so, I take that back..
He did make a handful of big saves, but the two he ABSOLUTELY needed to make he didnt.. and everything spiraled from there. - jak521
One thing and I’m not going to jump into your debate.
The Jones quote regarding Hak being animated happened after the 2nd or 3rd goal. It was not said after the game nor was it said about his demeanour for the evening.
Carry on. Thanks for your observations from the rink itself. |

See to me its been Provy.. idk what the hell is going on with him (I suspected injury after game one) but he has been abysmal. Only Mac has been worse on that back end (and he has been god awful even by AMac standards) . - jak521
I'm willing to give him a little slack since he's coming off a major injury but he needs to turn it around quick if they want to stay competitive |

I’m just tired of the noobs.
Stevens. Berube. Hak. Now Knob?
I just want to be entertained. Can argue about it all day but it’s my belief eventually a team kind of takes on their vibe and style of the HC. Mr Vanilla has produced a very vanilla group.
It’s honestly kind of boring to watch them as a fanbase at times no? God how I miss Lava. You have no idea. |

Meh. It’s been a long ride. Frankly they deserve the boo’s (real or on the inter webs) as far as I am concerned. |

Entertained? Did you see how "run and gun" Knobs teams were in Erie. I know he had McJesus during most of his time but he loves a track meet on ice. |

For 37 seconds. He turned away from our net said something that had a few explitives in it. Barked for about half a minute and then settled right back into his spot. It WAS RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME.. I thought for sure he was gonna take a time out, but instead he just changed his lines up from what was gonna to do. He pulled a player back on to the bench and sent (I wanna say Voro's line) a different line out.
After they scored their third goal (the reviewed one) when they went to commercial time out I watched their tv in the floor and they showed it go in and he just shook his head called the one ref over (we thought he was gonna challenge it) and said something about Ghost (pointed to him anyway, and we assumed he was pissed there wasnt a call on the cross check)... then he climbed down off the bench and for the rest of the game was expressionless. From then on out he looked exactly like his team did. - jak521 Not enough facts for me!
Hakstol seems perfectly fit to be a head coach...of a high school prep maybe this death stare sh!T works...Not on millionaires.
I know I remember reading that this guy does not cuss.
Awwe shucks or gosh dang are not the appropriate explitives on the wrong end of an 8-2 drubbing.

I haven’t.
At the end of the day, I think they roll with Hak. What’s becoming more disturbing, is he could probably go on another 10 gamer streak and Hextall would do nothing. That’s where my concern is starting to focus on.
It’s 2 games in, but multiple seasons of Hak hockey isn’t exactly a small sample size. |

Thats true. But they couldve used a momentum save on the first goal. Provorov's turn over was to blame but Elliot's 5 hole looked really weak. - Baxter27
It was definitely a save that should've been made. His pad got the puck but the shot still got through. Can't let that happen, especially at that point in the game. Certainly wasn't a routine save to make, but just really one he should've had. |

The leadership of the group is poop!!
It's been this half-butt effort for the past 5 years.
But you csnt just trade leadership. Nobody is going to give up what we want for Giroux. I 100% agree with the leadership issue but didnt say it earlier bc of the poop storm it will create in here but enough is enough.
To get spanked at home like that on your home opener on a season when fans are expecting our boys to take the next step is unacceptable.
Hak no longer gets free passes from me. Hak needs to address the lack of compete from our group.
Bench roo. Bench the entire leadership group and call up AHL guys for a game and hope that the leadership can get the message - sILKAsSINASALO
I got crushed on here last year when I wanted Voracek benched for his lazy play with and without the puck. Problem is by not taking the most precious thing to these guys away they won't learn.
When other will the top 2 lines backcheck? It's become almost a given that any of them get caught they will just give up and let the odd man rush happen. |

I don't surmise to know what Hextall's master plan is but I have to believe he wanted Hak to instill discipline and responsibility into a very young pipeline. Im not thoroughly convinced he saw him as the one to deliver the cup...just set good habits and then maybe move on. At least I need to hope that to preserve my sanity. |

Thing is, Hextall willingly went into this season with Elliot and Neuvirth as his goaltenders. I don’t really blame either guy. The league knows Elliot is as average as they come and most knew that Neuvirth has real struggles to stay healthy.
I’m just kind of done blaming the players. Even Mac. Yeah he’s a piece of poop 3rd pairing guy. He’s not the one deciding to be played as much as he is.
I’m very curious if they go with Elliot tonight. |

I don’t know what the master plan is, but I would love to know exactly what it would take for this HC or Lappy to eventually get the can. Missing the playoffs? Another 10 game losing streak? Hextall loves his boys, and he can sink with them if he chooses to. |

What would you have done with the goalies? You have Elliott and Neuvirth under contract for this year and Hart hopefully coming in the next year or two. What would you have done as GM to improve the situation without committing money and/or a long term and blocking Hart? |

last night's game was awful. So is this team really that bad? They looked ok, until the first goal and man did they fall apart quickly after that. not much to be positive about after that game. Hopefully they turn it around tonight, because they don't want to dwell on that game too long |

Oh he was for sure cursing. Its was either "are you (frank)ing kidding" or "this is a (frank)ing joke" I think the former.. Then he said a few more and then turned to the ice again and changed things up. He was for sure heated, but it was for literally half a minute and then boom. Blank stare |

True. I believe players do the best they can, but someone's best may not be as good as someone else's. For this reason players shouldn't be blamed - unless they just mail it in. The GM is supposed to assemble the players and the coach is supposed to put the best pieces available together. I believe that for some reason, this isn't happening to the fullest degree. I believe that there are some better players at various positions on the Phantoms that could do a better job than some current Flyers roster personnel. Why this is not happening...? |
