I'm not getting into the whole penalty conversation per se . . .

But when I watch Dallas' defense, it's borderline defense by interference if not completely on the other side of the line.

What I've noticed is that there are always some teams that can get away with it more than others.

I used to always find that was a staple of Hitchcock coached teams - positionally sound, but still defense-by-interference - but he's gone.

What makes that difference? I'm theorizing it's reputation - like how some batters have a better strike zone, or some pitchers get the benefit of the call.

Stars are throwing a ton of lumber too. Should’ve been one or two PPs for the Leads easily so far. Not too bad overall though. Leafs will still end up bottom 3 pp opps I bet this season though which makes no sense considering their play style.
