Neither have been impressive in the first 3 games, so they kinda deserve the demotion. Hopefully it makes an impression and they pick up their game. Hopefully Johnson gets the message from his time in the press box too. He's been really underwhelming.

But when I watch Dallas' defense, it's borderline defense by interference if not completely on the other side of the line.

What I've noticed is that there are always some teams that can get away with it more than others.

I used to always find that was a staple of Hitchcock coached teams - positionally sound, but still defense-by-interference - but he's gone.

What makes that difference? I'm theorizing it's reputation - like how some batters have a better strike zone, or some pitchers get the benefit of the call.

He was sure doing his job on Marner's goal a few minutes ago. I wasn't a fan of his after his first season, but I paid more attention to him last year and changed my mind.
