When I don't eat breakfast, I'm pissed off.

"JAMES VAN RIEMSDYK CAN'T STAY HEALTHY! CHRISTIAN FOLIN AIN'T GOT IT! ROBERT HAGG'S TOO SLOW! BRIAN ELLIOTT'S TOO OLD! RADKO GUDAS AIN'T GOT IT! ANDREW MACDONALD AIN'T GOT IT! JAKE VORACEK CAN'T SHOOT! WAYNE SIMMONDS IS TOO OLD! JORI LEHTERA DOES TOO MUCH COKE! MICHAEL NEUVIRTH CAN'T STAY HEALTHY! DAVE HAKSTOL CAN'T COACH! SCOTT LAUGHTON AIN'T GOT IT!"

Yeah, it was a bit overboard, and I think he frightened some kids.

But I appreciate the gesture. And part of me hopes that it's not just a shtick, and that the Flyers just let a deranged man run amok in the suit from time to time.

So, it's been a few seasons now. What is the verdict around Philly on Radko Gudas?

Odd that this didn't come up during testing. They'll figure it out. Seems that it's not the padding but rather that there is no space between the arm and the sleeve.

Seems like Neuvirth, Lyon and Knight aren't too far away from returning. All of them require waivers if they aren't going to stay with the Flyers.

I'm still trying to get over this JvR thing. That's gonna hurt. Weal's not in the same ballpark as a player. No disrespect to Weal. When JvR took that mid-ice hit by Reaves in the first game and looked at him like "whatever"... that felt good. Size to go with skill, at least sprinkled in the lineup, is a breath of fresh air. Now Simmonds is going to have to be the big brother for his Center and LW.

When he plays on the edge, he's effective. When he plays on either side of the edge, he's a liability. Overall, he's done a fair job.

I'd be more upset about losing Lyon than Neuvirth. I'd put all 3 on waivers and see if anyone bites.

Lyon may feel like a loss but with Pickard, Stollie, Hart, and others we're fine

Yes, but he's an asset that has some value, if minimal. I'd rather not lose him for nothing.

why would anyone be willing to give up anything for lyon? he has minimal nhl experience and hasn't really proven anything

Aside from posting good numbers in limited NHL duty and being one of the better AHL goalies last year, yes, no one would have any interest in him as a possible AHL goalie/NHL call-up.

In terms of Waivers, I think having to have him on the NHL roster for the time he needs to be there will probably keep most teams away.

I don't think there's an actual time period he has to be on the roster, just that another team can't send him to their AHL team unless the Flyers allow it
