I was waiting for someone to put a body to Kane or Pavelski, but they skated around uncontested it seemed.

Just imagine next year with no Simmonds. Team is soft. I mean the NHL is soft as pink cashmere now but the Flyers are pretty soft.

I'm out boys and girls...the good news is this horrible loss was in October in game 3, not in February or March.

Simmonds is meh as well. All this talk about how tough he is. He stands in front of the net.

I truly can’t remember the last time he fought - which I don’t really care about, but more so the last time he was a real physical/dominating presence in a game.

Because common sense and nuance, that’s why.

Do tell.

If true, I like it but god how I fear Lappy or Gordon becoming HC.

That last time he faught I believe he broke his hand. And I think in the last couple of years he suffered another self inflicted injury from punching a helmet.

The legaue is what it is now and while the respect the hell out of Simmonds that sort of stuff is wildly overvalued by fans now. His value is getting things done in the crease. I really don't give a damn about who can fight and who can't anymore.

Yikes...he’s not blameless tonight, but he’s not wrong either. Hakstol’s been here now 4 years...they should’ve established whatever structure Hakstol has tried to bring in by now.

Put Hextall on the bench. If that doesn't put the fear ofgod in these guys nothing will.

Nahh I don’t care about him fighting. Really don’t, but I don’t really think of him as this super gritty guy who imposes his will on a game. He’s a good PP net front presence.

I didn’t see it as a swipe at Hakstol. I just think he was struggling to answer questions after a pitiful game

It’s pretty unsettling that the head coach admits to not making a move that everyone including the guys on NBCSN at intermission could see needed to be made. I’ve given Hakstol the benefit of the doubt before, but this is his 4th season. That’s a basic error he made. Not good.

Second??? Should have been gone after one.

That game was an utter train wreck. There's not enough alcohol in the world to spin that in any way positive at all.

Let's hope they that game pissed them off and they produce a laugher tomorrow against the Send.

Here's a hot take... Elliott says that knowing he's not playing tomorrow. Lights a fire under his teammates and they smash Ottawa tomorrow.
