I can NOT believe Hakstol left Elliott in this game.
....and is leaving him in this game.
At this point its not fair to Elliott. He should have been out after the first period. Its not good to embarrass your veteran goalie like this regardless of how he has performed, its up to the coach to protect his players sometimes. - MBFlyerfan
Elliot should have been on the bench, but I think Elliot has as much a hand in this loss as anyone. |

Dude...he was horrific against the Pens. He's been solid these two games. He's moved the puck well...no stupid penalties...respectfully disagree. - Brad Marsh Fan
Yup...we disagree.

Absolutely, He did. They were all over the Sharks.
Then the Sharks get a 2 on 1 and Elliott lets in a turd.
The Flyers never recovered. |

Flyers need to build a time machine and bring Brodeur from his prime to play the nets, it would still be 6-1 tonight, but at least we could blame something else. |

In some odd, Hakstolian logic, I think he was trying to convey to Elliot that it wasn't all on him or something. |

I actually think the 2nd goal was way worse. |

It’s the islanders fault they beat San Jose 4-0 yesterday.
The islanders can’t even suck right. |

I agree, but I really don't think the team fell apart until Elliot gave up those 2 goals in such quick fashion. |

My favorite was the 4th one. He kicks the rebound to the player standing right next to him, giving him an easy tap-in.

JVR would have had 5 goals if he hadn’t been hurt. It’s technically tied. Next goal wins. |

You know the cliche that the away team has to “weather the storm” against the home team’s opener?
Why does this never apply to this Flyers team? Not to mention the lack of a 60 minute effort. It only ever happens when the sun moon and stars align.
This has always been an issue with this core of players. It’s been rotten and it’s staying rotten. No amount of new blood is going to change it. |

Flyers really are kind of a boring hockey team to watch. I miss those fun times during the 90's with the LOD and knowing they would get the job done almost every night. |

Also Hakstol is embarrassing Elliott keeping him in this game.
He does realize that Elliott is coming off core muscle surgery and is 33 years old right? And that he needs to do a better job managing his ice time this year...right? |

I really can't take another season with these types of games. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt tho and hope they come very few and far between.
All I can think about is this poor core of players who haven't had a legit team around them for a good 6 years now. Then again maybe they're part of the problem too... |

I’m just happy that we get to turn in our timeout for a case of tasty cakes after the game.
Could have tried to at least help stop the bleeding.
