I like Ryan Pulock and Brandon Montour. If this Nylander bull poop goes the other I’d be ready to accept a trade around those guys.

The Leafs need D

how many of the stretch pass attempts were by Gardiner? and how many did he make and then head to the bench?
- BorjeFan4Ever

Not sure, but we have a top 4 that can skate/move the puck out, why are the wingers flying the zone? High risk/high reward, but there's a time and a place: down 2 goals in the 3rd? Giver. 2-2 in the 2nd period? Maybe not.

I am confident that this will be a good season to enjoy for Leaf fans. Only blemish will be listening to diehard Nucks fan Jim Hughson (and full-time idiot) call games.

What the poop is going on? They forced Hughson and Simpson on us for the first 3 games. Why? What have we done to deserve that?

He's (frank)ing awful.

There are 7 letters in “Clinton,” there are 7 letters in “Babcock.”

and you can tell this after one game?

This new goalie equipment standard is going to skew stats bigly.

- Arctic_AARDVARK

Strawman. I never suggested anything could be told from one game.

I’m suggesting some have concerns. I don’t see why backup goalies should be off the menu of discussion just because Matthews and Tavares tore it up.

Having said that, Sparks has been shaky in almost every NHL game he’s started. I hope he’ll get his (poop) together - but the small sample set thus far is not too impressive.

that's classic Babcock... he doesn't want guys like Hyman and Kapanen to "gain to much confidence"...

but will blow smokes up Ennis a__...

so predictable

did he say anything about Ennis... of course he won't because that would indirectly questioning his own roster choices - which as we all know - are at times 'unusual'...

did he say how "great" Marincin was?

- BorjeFan4Ever

I'd ventrue a guess most fans don't look at the whole picture when judging comments from Babcock. Forget that we're all less qualified by an order a magnitude.

If you watch the interview he called out Hyman for being fantastic and a good reason for the early success of the Tavares line but no one wants to talk about him.

Babcock likes his skilled pairs and a puck retrieval guy. He see's all the tools in Kapanen (rightfully so) and wants him to be a Hyman type dog on the puck in o-season. If he can do that he can stay Matthew's winger.
