He doesn't have the option of negotiating with other teams. He either signs what the leafs want him to sign for or he doesn't play and then he comes back next year and the same offer is still on the table. If he's worried about losing 16million over 8 years you think he'll be okay with losing. 6.5million this year.

Nylander is overrated and soft but everyone wants the leafs to trade him to their team.
