I think they could roll the dice for 3 years, and either it comes up Yahtzee, or they hit a hot goalie in the first round and keep losing. Their team structure is unorthodox and unreliable

It is very different from the traditional, which makes it exciting but you're right. It's hard to know what the payoff here will be and how long they'll have to do it.

Teams will tighten up against them and they will tighten up as well.

They’re a great team but I think their depth is a little over rated right now (obviously not at the center position)

Allen would never make that throw! Wow, that was atrocious.

30 goals and shuts down opposing lines. That's a fringe 1C today.

I don't watch all the Leafs games, but against us he seems to play against the Jack early in games, in defensive situations, but as soon as the game goes one way or the other he gets weaker competition and feasts.

IMO he’s on Oreilly’s level in terms of where he’s ranked among centers.

Kadri
O’Reilly
Couture
Turris
Varone (Phil)
Jordan Staal

That 25-40 range

These injury "tents" are ludicrous, NFL players are generally larger than civilians, and these tiny tents barely fit them. They tilt the thing on its side and then rotate it over the player once inside. The NFL and teams make how many billions of dollars a year? You'd think they could spring for an actual tent, not something that was on sale for $49.99 at Walmart.

I think he looks better because of who he plays behind, a la, Roy on line 3 in '06

He's not a 25-40 centerman if he's the #1c on a team. His situation makes him look better.

I refuse to jump back into the ROR debate. He is dead and gone

Well, when he was a default #1 in the short season he had 44 points in 48 games.

Dude is a moron though

Eichel has a great shot too but doesn’t like to use it. He needs to be more selfish

He's also one of the rare players where the puck always seems to bounce on to the blade of his stick instead of it bouncing just off of it.

Their cap structure is gonna be weird for years. I honestly think they need to sell high on either Matthews or Marner to bring in d help and long-term cap stability.

And for the record, I thought the idea of the Sabres signing JT was dumb, but long term, it's gonna be worse for the Leafs if they can't win a cup in the next 3 years

- jcragcrumple

Sell high on Marner or Mathews? Listen to yourself. If you were in the same situation with the Sabres, would you sell high on Eichel or Dahlin? Didn’t think so.

I think until this team gets innovative we’re screwed.

Where is the creativity

- sbroads24

I really like the way Minny’s OC calls games
He’s brand new at it,
but it won’t be long before he makes a name for himself & gets a chance at a HC job

I get why they are being conservative, but it’s annoying watching CJ Beathard throw a creative shovel pass for a TD while we play offense from 1980
- sbroads24

They’re keeping it simple for a reason

Bills to sign Derek Anderson, more Panther throwaways.

Should’ve done it the day they traded McCarron
