Did you not see the sick drag and tic-tac-toe he set up? That's not timid, he took the puck, deked a defender, took it toward the net, dumped it off to Reinhart who passed it right to Sheary for the goal.

Still very concerned this team can’t score 5 on 5 though.

That might be coaching

- sbroads24

It might also just be two games. Lundqvist made some very good saves too. Goalies are going to make saves, but some of those still go in, they didn't tonight.

We're on pace for 41 wins!

Only 82 points though

Much needed 2 points tonight. Dahlin is a blast to watch, almost had 2 tonight. Hutton won us the game however. Improvement from Thursday but still a lot of room to improve.

Erod’s line was the only positive from Game 1. He was good again tonight. I like Ellie as well.

ROR has put up 4 pts in 2 games for the Blues so not ragging on him but he had 4 penalty minutes tonight, had 2 pims in 81 games last year

Hank, you out there?

Vettel has totally lost it, cracked up. WTF was he doing? There was no reason to go for the overtake, at all, let alone there. He's only got himself to blame. He passes him in the pits anyway and they weren't that far behind the 2 Mercs.

Agreed. You’ll only win so many games by power play only. Good to see them get some pp goals under their belt though.

I was dogging ror all year for his lack of doing the dirty things to get a loose puck

It's good to see he is working harder for the blues

it's a shame when he was paid to be the man in buffalo he could not do it for us

a common theme really on ex sabres

"Rare early success: The victory allowed the Sabres to avoid losing their first two games for the fifth time in six years. They also escaped the indignity of dropping the first two at home for the eighth consecutive season."

Nice.

In other news, the Leafs D is horrible.

I also enjoyed the game. I'm still skeptical on this teams potential considering it's a weaker rangers team. Hutton was a huge part of the win!

The 3-0 was amazing. He didn't overcommit at all. Stayed with the puck

I want to see Ullmark get the nod tomorrow

Why?

We finally have a goalie step up and carry a team like a true veteran leader and you want the kid?

You and phil should both be fired if we see ullmark before the back to back in la/Anaheim 20th/21st

I think people are getting confused, we are trying to win this year

Hutton has yet to play over 41 starts. I don't want to overwork him this early.

I'm excited to see the 2-time AHL all-star

Little touchy there

He's a fresh goalie though, he's never gotten the chance to start. Sometimes, good goalies don't get a chance until their early 30's. Goaltenders reach their prime later, it's a well known fact.

I never saw Chad Johnson put up numbers like Hutton did last year.

Also, special teams don't matter
