My guess is that Nylander feels he should get monies comparable or at least close to Matthews and Marner. No saying he should or shouldn't but he may feel why should he be the one to give a discount. Again, just a guess.

He's probably worried he'll be the only one to take a discount being the first one but the reality is he deserves what he's earned so far. He's a year older than marner. If marner has a pet per game season he deserves quite a bit more than nylander.
