I think Kap is underated...I’d actually love to see him with Matthews for a game.

And I know, but Dubas is adimit in having guys who want to be a part of this team and willing to take less to do so. The longer this goes the less confident I am that Nylander is willing to do it.

A one year deal is the worst case scenario but if this goes to December 1st it’s likely what will happen. So trade the guy if so.

Yes to Kap, no to Ennis. He was unbearable to watch last night.

Ennis on the ice in the final minute has to be a joke.

Nice to see Dermot becoming a top 4 D anmd Hainey's time slipping-away. He looks finished.

It's so hard to judge Kapanen because he has never even had a consitent top 9 role.

I still don't see the love but hope he's proves me wrong. He has a lot of good tools, but lacks a lot too.
He's fast and defensively aware. Good passer too. But not much creativity or finish in his game. And is pretty poor on the boards. He gets knocked around more than Ennis.

We saw Ennis get knocked around more in 2 games than kapanen in all his combined.

Ennis sucks balls. He brings nothing.

Hey I'm not saying Ennis is better. He's been horrible too.
I'm just saying Kap isn't all that great. Or at least he hasnt been so far this year. Not enough to warrant being bumped up in the lineup, anyway.

He’s falling victim to his line mates being bad

But why is Ennis on the 1st line? He was often a healthy scratch on a non-playoff team last season.
Don't you think Kapanen deservesa better look?

What do you want from a guy on the 4th line? He's proven before he's capable.

If I guy is garbage and doesn't deserve to be on that line, why keep him there? Give someone else a shot, someone that has been here awhile and played well in his role.

Kap and is being asked to play a role. He's not getting minutes to show creativity nor linemates to be able to be creative. Babs is asking him to play simple game, No mistakes so that's what he's doing.

He's shown plenty of talent previously.

I agree. What can he really show with that role and minutes? The guy scored a massive PK breakaway goal in game 7 of the playoffs. There's a reason he keeps getting breakaways on the PK.

I still can't believe Lou couldn't have made Murray a better offer than Rico and Blandisi for Vats. It was right there for Leafs to grab top 4 RHD .. and benefit both Ducks and Leafs.

Because Nylander hasn't signed yet.
Once he signs, and hopefully it'll be soon, things will change. Ennis sucks but he's not the reason the team has been playing sub-par. Matthews can produce with anyone so I'm not worried about the line.

I stilll don't think Kap has a whole lot of creativity to show.
The same thing could easily be said about Johnsson: he has more skill than a 4th liner but doesn't have the line mates to get consistent points.
Kap will move up in the lineup and get some points. But i still think you guys are overrating him.

How is he being overrated, especially when I haven't even said anything about how I rate him? All I said is he has creativity, which you said he had none of.

I didn't say you specifically. There are a few of you guys who just said he does things better than I think he does.
In all honestly i hope you guys are right and it turns out I've been underrating him. But we'll see.

He's looking great.

I feel a bit stupid though. I took Broke Back Mountain Boeser with my 1st pick. Not sure if he's playing or not.

Your First pick? was this your first draft? or did it consist of 40+ people?

I heard on the NHL Network and on local radio that he is very much considering retirement due to head trauma. He's got a third child on the way (possibly has had it already, not too sure). Said he was looking to focus on being a father and a family man after his last concussion.

I believe he's reached the end personally.

My team is really dependent on my defense and hoping Getzlaf remains healthy.

Getzlaf.

I drafted him and planned to get Rakell right after but my brother is a bastard and took him knowing that I was.

If you think he wasn't bad then I don't know what to say. Gave the puck away every time he touched it, falling down all the time. He was noticibly terrible.

Anyone notice who's leading the NHL scoring race after two games?

1. Elias Pettersson, C VAN 2 3 2 5

I drafted him, too.

I hope they play Calgary 10 more times.

With his health problems it makes no sense. He doesn't need the money, and one more head injury could make things a lot more serious for him then it already is.

I'm sure a lot of teams called, he would be playing now if he wanted to.

Matthews and Laine both have 136 career NHL points, although Laine has played 11 more games, I never would have thought it'd be that close? I thought Matthews would be much further ahead.

I think on top of missing 20 games last year, Matthews also played 20ish hurt.

Meh, Kaps almost to fast for his own hands it seems. Give Ennis a little bit of time to find some more chemistry with his linemates...he hasn’t been that bad, not great but not that bad. ( Nylander will be signed before we know it )
