Forseberg for Ritchie or something like that just using that trade proposal as an example. IMO forseberg has the potential to be a number one goalie just needs to get over the mental part of the game. Crawford had the same problem. - Scott1977
I’d hate to give up on Forsberg, but I’d hate to lose him for nothing even more.
Forsberg to Vancouver for Motte. |

Motte is a step down from Duchene or Malkin. Good Bowman negotiating skills haha. Do you want a gm job? |

Duchene or Malkin would be what any competent GM could get for Forsberg. All Stan could get would be Motte. |

I'm sorry, but you're wrong. He'd get future considerations. |

Do you remember when Saad was supposed to be a yearly 30G-30A scoring power winger? Good times. |

Small sample size, but so far Seabrook/Manning look like the pair that has been over-matched. They need to see if Davidson or Forsling will settle into the top 4 and help or if those guys can improve. Rutta has struggled (more this year than any point last year) so maybe they push Seabrook or Manning down to some easier minutes.
They need a top 4 dman or for someone to play like one.
The third line has a combined 2 assists so far. (Kampf and Kunitz each have one 2nd assist) The top guys are gonna cool off and they will need something from the other forwards. This team really could use some punch for the 3rd line. AA is much less of a dumpster fire this year, but still won't be able to generate much without some help.
They need a 3rd line winger.
Kruger has decent in the 4th line role, but meh from the rest there so far. Hayden got a goal, but his overall game wasn't that good. I think he needs a few more reps to see if he deserves to stick. Martinsen has struggled, Johnson hasn't been much better. It might be early to demote or call someone up.
Again, small sample size and some mental errors hurting the team along with the inconsistent goaltending, but can't really complain that they haven't lost in regulation yet. I hope Stan is on the phone trying to figure out a deal for a third line forward.
Saying all this, it is interesting to see that the coaches are talking about getting some habits out of Manning's game. These first few weeks could be a process, but at least they have gotten points in the standings. Crawford inches closer to a return and hopefully they can find a way to fill in the weak spots. All in all, they don't look like a lottery team. |

Just like Shane Falco bringing the Washington Sentinels back after halftime....Pain heals, chicks dig scars, glory lasts forever.... |

I'm hoping for Sikura to be recalled within the first quarter of the season to play 3rd line with Anisimov and give him an agile playmaker. An experienced 3rd liner to go along with them would be nice now that Kahun is looking like a good fit with Toews and DeBrincat.
Whatever happened to Shore? Did he ever sign with another team?
For the 4th line, at some point I'd ideally like to see Kruger with Kampf and Highmore. Hayden would be super there too but needs to show consistency. Don't see Kunitz or Martinsen there long term (extra forward is more like it). |

On the OT goal, Kane turns it over trying to play it through Matthews but Keith and Toews were back. No one has talked about this one...how about Keith giving the inside up to Reily (his forehand on a nothing move) then we know what happened after that. Game Over!

Shore remains unsigned. I'm surprised. He appeared to be a useful player.
I think we may see Highmore sooner than later.

Please Highmore, Fortin, Sikura in that order as long as forwards go. |

The third line needs a boost so you may be right. Either Highmore or Sikura could get the call. Based on their respective training camps and starts in Rockford Highmore is the early favourite.
Play either Highmore or Sikura with Anisimov and Kampf. Bump Martinsen to Rockford and Kunitz to the press box. |

Rutta has been abominable. So much worse than any other D. D actually looks far worse than it is as Goaltending has been basically non-existent. Seabrook and Manning will be just fine whether playing together or not. |

Fortin is not going to get a serious call-up until he shows he can actually score. He has shown that he has some positive attributes but has not shown that he can use those attributes to post points.

First of all,it's been a very good 1st week for the Hawks. Is there things that have to improve, yes.Saad has to get going,Ward has to stop a puck, and please get the PP going.. I like most fans,I don't understand why year after year the Hawks have a terrible PP.We have good players on it but we can't seem to get it going. Its either our coaches system,or we don't have a legit powerplay QB. - Tatoo
Duncan Keith. Having a cannon on the PP is important and Keith provides a popgun, not a cannon.

You're probably correct about Fortin not getting a call up until he proves he can score but it makes me wonder why Kampf gets so much love - he may not be as offensively inept as Kruger but he's getting close. I know - Kampf does other things well like playing a good all-around game and that's probably the edge he has on Fortin - but Fortin does one thing a whole lot better and that's use his speed to forecheck which would be very useful in checking the opponent's all too easy breakouts. |
