I am not getting the gnashing of teeth over playing Folin. Its game 2, against a non conference opponent, with a guy who played in the west for the last 4 years. Sounds like a perfect time to get the guy some minutes and see what you have.

I don’t really think it’s a big deal. I just thought that Gudas had a solid game and it’s a bit odd to now bench him in favor of, IMO, an inferior player. But, FFS, it’s not like they are sitting Konecny to get Weise into the lineup!

It's not a big deal really. A coach makes one lineup decision and the hyperbole comes out. Personally I don't agree with the move for two reasons. One I think you don't change the lineup after a win, and two, I think that Gudas is a better player than Folin.

Relax everybody. Let’s at least wait for Folin’s first shift before we start roasting Hak. It is an 82 game season and he is not sitting a healthy NP. He has planned this. At least there was some thought behind it. I’m sure this was bounced off the rest of the staff.

I think going back to Hakstol's comments from the conclusion of camp saying he's still trying to get his pairings where he's comfortable. Gudas wasn't atrocious in LV. He had a couple unforced turnovers and one really lucky break where he fired the puck up the middle and it bounced over a VGK's stick and out of the zone.
