Love Simmer. He had a rough year last season, but that was injury induced.

If the Flyers are out of it early, I think he’s a trade deadline piece. Morgan Frost is gonna bounce somebody off of the FWD list next season.

I wouldn’t be against a Simmer ++ trade for Nylander

Could even help out both teams. Simmer is very reasonable cap wise. Maybe get a decent pick or young defenseman with him. The Flyers have quite a few.

That would be Phillipe Myers, and no, I’d be uncomfortable giving you both he and Simmer. That’s a big mortgage. Somethings gotta come back.

they weren't Burke's Leafs when they made the playoffs in 2013.

not worth $8 mil now and debatable if he'll be worth 8 mil in 8 years, assuming he's a 60-70 point player, and inflation as well as cap going up, yes, he'll be worth 8 mil in 8 years from now.

He wants 2 mil more than Pastrnak when he's a step below as a player. Thanks but no thanks. Rather trade him for an equivalent asset or package of assets.

He can go make $8 mil in Arizona instead of $6.5 in Toronto.

Send him to Tampa, no taxes.. I bet that's what he really wants. Nylander wants the Leafs to pay his taxes for him too.

To be fair, taxes are pretty high in Canada. Even I'd wanna declare my income in Florida.

It is a lot more complex than that. They pay taxes on road games where they are played too.

ah well it was a pretty good run i guess.. is there any mediocre cheaper players the Leafs can trade thier good players for...cuz the cap
- senstroll

Sens may be willing to give up Boedker...though if Willy is asking for any more than league minimum, then it might be a tough sell.

I'm no expert, but my guess is that these 20-some year old multi millionaires are much less interested in giving a damn about taxes than they are Ferraris and hoes.

FAK him...and these players mentality. Just because the CAP is going up, doesnt mean you can ask for more than you're worth or assume your salary is going up as a result. Bigger picture here. Be part of something special here, or frank off. He will be getting a raise by siging a new deal.

Im done with him.

Trade him for Trouba!

Trouba did his holdout with the Jets and not the Leafs so he must be a good guy

Lindholm did it with the Ducks. Lindholm-Trouba pairing?

I think that’s exactly what it means.

Cap goes up... players get more money.

Yep. Those teams are just dying to trade those guys to us just because some Leaf fans have no patience.

Nylander needs to sign a 2 year bridge deal at 5m per. Prove he's worth the 8-8.5m he's asking for.

This whole situation is getting really annoying and I don't wanna talk about it for another 2 months, possibly a year. Lol

Nylander doesnt mix well with the rest of the core (matthews, marner, rielly, kadri, freddy) and therefore he'll be gone before start next season.

Cap goes up 2 million, it doesn't all go towards one player, there are other players on the team who need new contracts as well you know..

The Blues don't really need Willie.

But Anaheim is in need of someone to replace Perry. Now and in the future.
Anaheim has D to spare. Both would be trade trading from a position of strength, for something they need

And im not a Leafs fan.

Exactly. This is what I don't get about that argument. Cap goes up 2 mil. Split among your 23 man roster each player makes 87k more than they would have done.

Ya, I think that’s a good compromise.

2 years and marleau is off the books and hopefully cap goes up.
Nylander can then sign for more money.
