Well I agree agents can be full of it. They are of course one sided as the more they get from the player the more they get themselves.
Never understood why a player doesn’t just hire a contract lawyer for a flat fee to negotiate the contract not a percentage and then just have an assistant on salary to take care of day to day stuff.

With a salary cap, I think there is less use for agents. Some would argue more need, as the finances are more complicated for teams.
The thing is, this Nylander situation is a perfect example... The Leafs' hands are tied by the cap, and by who they want to keep. It isn't like the Leafs are a cheap organization, they have no choice.
Without agents, I get the feeling that you put Nylander Matthews Marner in a room and they work it out. Agents only serve to convince the player to pull poop like holding out to get every last cent. In the end, I think the agent and Nylander's dad are going to cost him money with this holdout.
