I sense there will be tie in week 13.
but week 12 I'll be victorious

- zazzle

It will depend how the teams look....regarding the tie.

What division are you in?

I like how it's game 1 of the season. Game (frank)ing 1 of the season and he's torpedoing the club's chances, bringing up Boston. We didn't even play them last night!

They played like poop, no doubt, but c'man: it's Game ONE of EIGHTY-TWO games.

exactamundo...

and they won.

played "not their best game" ... and won.

after years of watching teams work hard and lose... its nice to have the talent surplus carry thru for a change.

Ennis still sucks

Yes. He was the Jake Gardiner of the footballing world.

So him teammates (strongly protestant club) told him it would be funny to do the Sash playing loyalist flutist when he scored against Celtic (strongly Catholic club).

He proceeded to receive death threats from the IRA and eventually had to leave Rangers.

Greatest sports story of all time:

That's because Gardiner was on the ice coughing up the puck and losing his coverage. Overall though. ..I liked a lot more about last night than I took issue with. Leafs are going to have a great season. I even liked ennis's game...6 (though I don't think he has chemistry with Matthews at all.
- mykokes

Ennis blows. He contributed absolutely nothing last night. I'd give that experiment perhaps 2-3 games at most (regardless of Nylander)... you'll see Hyman back with Matthews - with Brown on the other wing - same as their rookie seasons.

Gardiner is what he is... he's not really capable of becoming anything more at this poin t in his career.

I don't think he was waving at the bench..he was waving as he was getting to his bench....anyways, fight the guy face to face....grabbing him and throwing punches before Eller is ready is pretty cowardly.
- Garnie

that's Marchand.

and it will all change when Chara is no longer there.... I'm guessing this is the last season of "the cross-check" ... Bruins world will be turned up side down - they just won't realize themselves.

Eller barely celebrated...the guys happy he scored.

(frank) Marchand.

And if Boston was upset, maybe they should try not letting 7 goals in!

Gardiner is the best defenseman in the world.

For about 5 minutes a game.

Old white people vote more than young people.
Benefit of tax "changes" overwhelmingly favoured the wealthy.
Older generation considers themselves to be the doers - and they consider the younger to be whiners

what part of that is false?

That the idea behind this is that "young people" should vote and should vote a certain way. But they were going to vote...for Sanders. Then the party rigged the election against him and took the wind out of the sails of the "young people."

Also the Gardiner thing was a Tannerism joke, just for clarification.

Just reading what Marchand did.

Normally I hope he dies in a fire, but I'm going to stick up for him on this one.

In the first game of the season, you don't wildly celebrate the 7th goal of a 7-0 thumping, and you sure as hell don't do it in front of the opposition's bench.

Eller deserved a beatdown.

- Atomic Wedgie

I’m going to disagree here.

A taunt hurts your feelings. Jumping a guy from behind and throwing punches before he can get his bearings is dangerous... and in any other situation is straight up criminal.

Don’t like the taunt? Give him a good clean hit, or better yet, show the (frank) up and respond on the scoresheet.

If you’re so immature that you can’t control your feelings and need to respond with violence to hurt feelings... you don’t belong in society.

If Tom Wilson ends Marchand’s career when he gets back, and is subsequently expelled from the league, the NHL will be a better place.

I wish they'd celebrate like in football (soccer), tops off, Klinsmann dive, Cahill boxing, the rowing boat, the reeling in a fish, the Cantona stance, the Robbie Keane cartwheel and flip, the Balotelli "Why Me" t-shirt, jumping in the croud, the Ketsbaia smashing poop out of everything, the Crouchie robot, the Shearer one arm in the air, the Gazza dentist chair, the Gazza Flute and the Robbie Fowler snorting the lines.

Show it actually means something to them.

Marleau-Matthews is a better combo than Hyman-Matthews.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Kapanen take Ennis’s spot if he doesn’t do well.

Despite getting completely destroyed by Tavares on his goal.

He's looking like an excellent option as a 4th line centre.

- Scabeh

That's tough for a forward to make that D play there. Skated right past him, but Tavares is pretty shifty and strong down low.

Gazza was one of the best football players of his era.
Gardiner.... not so much in hockey
so not very alike.

if you mean the # of brain cells - Gardiner has about 1000x as much as Gazza had

Yeah, he could've just grabbed him and said, "chill the (frank) out". Would've got his message across.

Marchand should be suspended for that.
