Leivo played pretty well too.. I thought 5 on 5, the Tavares line and the Kadri line were our two best.. \
Matthews line, struggled a little against the Domi line

- PatC80

That's because Gardiner was on the ice coughing up the puck and losing his coverage. Overall though. ..I liked a lot more about last night than I took issue with. Leafs are going to have a great season. I even liked ennis's game...6 (though I don't think he has chemistry with Matthews at all.

It's cool. Be happy you scored. His team celebration was fine. Skating by the Bruins bench and waving at them wasn't.

If the Leafs are being pasted 6-0 and someone scores a 7th and skates by our bench taunting them, I'd hope for a visceral response to show some pride as well.

(frank) Marchand - that's status quo. But (frank) Eller as well.

Just reading what Marchand did.

Normally I hope he dies in a fire, but I'm going to stick up for him on this one.

In the first game of the season, you don't wildly celebrate the 7th goal of a 7-0 thumping, and you sure as hell don't do it in front of the opposition's bench.

Eller deserved a beatdown.

Hes a sack of sh!t, give him 10 games

William Nylander spoke to Aftonbladet in Sweden about the #Leafs win last night. "I saw highlights from the match in the morning. These were great goals. I want to play, but now it's the way it is. But I want to stay in Toronto."

WHAT ABOUT PECA?????
- Garnie

Despite getting completely destroyed by Tavares on his goal.

He's looking like an excellent option as a 4th line centre.

Domi had 2 points last night. I bet he doesn't play like that again and finishes the season with 33 points.
- PatC80

i'll take that bet Pat old pal.

I really like what I've seen from Domi yesterday. Smart plays, tough to play against and can knock your teeths out....

Marchand is a weasel and a coward. I think if the response had been given by someone else on the Bruins, it would have been considered more justifiable because it would have been less expected.

I agree. I also don't know what happens there - realistically. Eller was going to get some payback. You're already being mashed, so this is the game to do it in. But if he won't answer the bell, and you're dead set on retribution - where does it go? Maybe the best place it could have gone was some unsolicited face punching. Because chasing a guy around the ice stick swinging or neck breaking is far worse, but not out of the realm of possibility.

- Monkeypunk

Then you don't get your retribution.

Imagine that argument in a court of law.

Well he didn't want to fight, so i shanked him, was it wrong?

I don't think he was waving at the bench..he was waving as he was getting to his bench....anyways, fight the guy face to face....grabbing him and throwing punches before Eller is ready is pretty cowardly.

Just a little ironic that it was him trying to protect some un-written code about respect in the game.

(frank) em.

I said it yesterday.

The Bruins won't have as good a season this year.

They're still a good team.... but they won't finish 2nd in the Atlantic.

Whatever happened to that Bruins fan? RickUGJames or something like that?
